|Ayurveda: (Ayus – life; Veda – knowledge or science) is translated as Science of Life. Ayurveda is the oldest health care system recognized by the |

|World Health Organization. It is a comprehensive, holistic, natural health care system that deals with the mind, physiology, senses, and environment.|

|It is strongly prevention-oriented and very effective in managing chronic disorders. Its various strategies include meditation, individualized diet, |

|herbal preparations to reduce ongoing damage to the physiology and also to rejuvenate the system, yogic exercises and energizing breathing exercises,|

|and proper daily routine. These approaches strengthen the body’s immune system and self-repair mechanisms. A large number of studies have validated |

|the effectiveness of Ayurveda. The presentation will include an overview of this system of health care. Chiropractic: Description and understanding |

Kelli Annis RHIA, CPC, CCS-P, CPCO, CPMA, CEMC, CIMC, CEDC: Kelli has been in the healthcare industry for over 25 years, focusing on the billing and coding for physician practices. She has a BS in Health Information Management from the University of Cincinnati and is an RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) and CCS-P (Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based) through the American Health Information Management Association. She has been a CPC through the American Academy of Professional Coders since 1997, and holds specialty coding credentials in Internal Medicine, Emergency Department, Evaluation and Management, Medical Record Auditing and Compliance. Kelli started her career at Mount Carmel Health System/Trinity Health and is now the Manager of Patient Accounting for Bronson Healthcare Group in Kalamazoo MI. She oversees the BCBS and Commercial Professional Billing Teams, as well as Home Health, DME, Private Duty Nursing, Hospice and Emergency Monitor billing for the Bronson At Home business line.

John Grandominico DC, DACRB Clinical Assistant Professor, The Ohio State University, Wexner Medical Center, Integrative Medicine, Columbus, Ohio, January 2006 to Present. Kristi Hayes, CPC: Kristi has been a certified coder and member of the AAPC for close to ten years where she is currently acting as the Education Officer for 2016. For the last 2.5 years she has worked as a compliance specialist with OSU Physicians. In her current role she provides education to providers along with auditing and monitoring their documentation and billing for E/M services along with procedures. In her spare time Kristi enjoys spending time with her family, reading and learning new crafts.

Jeffrey L. Hunter, DC, DO, FAAFP, FACHE, CPC: Dr. Jeffrey Hunter is the Chief Medical Officer and Vice President for Medical Affairs at Molina Healthcare of Ohio. He is an experienced physician, educator and healthcare executive, and he has extensive experience in quality improvement, electronic health records, patient safety, coding and compliance, healthcare privacy, peer review, risk management, systems improvement, and medical education. His experience as a physician and a physician executive spans both the private and public sectors. Dr. Hunter served as the Deputy Chief of Staff at the VA Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. Later, he joined the Ohio State University College of Medicine as a physician and as Chair of the Primary Care Network Quality Committee. He is still an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Ohio State. He was the President, Corporate Medical Director and Chief Compliance Officer for Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians. Dr. Hunter received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from the Ohio State University, Doctor of Chiropractic from Logan College in St. Louis and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Ohio University. He completed the Family Medicine Residency at Grant Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio, where he was Chief Resident, and is board certified. He specializes in family medicine and hospice and palliative medicine in addition to sports chiropractic medicine and acupuncture. He has a Black Belt in Lean Systems redesign from Purdue University and is a Certified Lean Practitioner from Xavier University. Dr. Hunter also served as an Assistant Dean at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and as the Chief of the Geriatrics, Rehabilitation Medicine and Academic Affairs Departments at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center. He has been inducted into the Master Faculty as a Clinical Professor at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Becky McFarland, CPC: Senior Compliance Specialist Becky McFarland has been a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) and a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) for nearly twenty-five years. She was the founding President and is a current member of the Columbus, Ohio Local Chapter. Becky has a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management, having graduated Summa Cum Laude from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio. For twenty years, Becky has worked in the compliance industry for a local company as well as working under contract. In her spare time, Becky enjoys spending time with her Labrador Retrievers and supporting our U.S. troops and local law enforcement.

Caitlin Merriman, LMT: Associate Degree from Ohio College of Massotherapy in 2006 in Fairlawn, Ohio.  Licensed by State of Ohio Medical Board since 2007.  Massage work experience in private practice, fitness centers, medical offices, sports events, and marketing events. Employed by OSUMC April 2013.  Promoted to Lead Massage Therapist October 2013. Promoted to Manager of Massage Therapy October 2014. Expanded MT services throughout OP and IP sites.  Created CE course of Massage Therapy for Healthcare Professionals. Developed MT internship with Columbus State Community College. Happily married with two boys under 2.5 years and two dogs or “fur babies”.

Gaibrelle Reissland, JD, RN,CHC: is currently transitioning from her role as the Director of Compliance for the Wexner Medical Center. Her history with The Ohio State spans more than 30 years with the majority of her career as Director of Risk Management for the Medical Center. She initiated the Enterprise Risk Management program for the University in 2007 and returned to the Medical Center in 2010 to head the Compliance Coordination and Integrity Program. She also holds the title of Director of Compliance for PrimaryOne Health, formerly, Columbus Neighborhood Health. She started her career as a Staff Nurse and Charge Nurse at The Ohio State University Hospitals. In addition to publishing on risk management issues, Gaibrelle presents to university audiences as well as local and national groups and organizations on risk management and compliance issues. She completed a Certificate Program in health Care Compliance from George Washington University in 2014. She earned her J.D from Capital University College of Law in 1988 and was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1989. She earned her B.S. in Nursing from Capital University and has been board registered in Ohio since 1983. She is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, National Association of College and University Attorneys, American Health Lawyers Association and the Association of American Medical Colleges. She has her National certification in Health Care Compliance. While at Ohio State, Gaibrelle has served as President of the Ohio Society for Healthcare Risk Managers. She has been awarded Manager of the Year by The Ohio State University Hospitals, Risk Manager of the Year by the Ohio Society for Healthcare Risk Managers and a Special Award in Risk Management from the Ohio Hospital Association.

Tonya Ries, BS, CPC, CEDC, CRC: Tonya is the lead medical records auditor and training consultant for Anthem’s Medicare Revenue Management & Reconciliation Compliance Department. She has over 8 years of experience in medical coding and auditing, with the last 4 years dedicated to Medicare Risk Adjustment. In her current role, she provides training on diagnosis coding and medical record documentation best practices. In addition to trainings, she coauthors educational material such as the Coding Focus. She co-leads Anthem’s Provider Coding Education (PCE) Workgroup, helping to ensure providers have access to quality ICD-10 coding training. Tonya is also an active member in the Columbus, Ohio AAPC Chapter serving currently serving as 2016 Vice President.

Hari Sharma, MD, DABIHM, FACN, DABP, FCAP, FRCPC: is nationally and internationally known for his accomplishments in Ayurveda, a comprehensive, multi-strategy, prevention-oriented system of health care. He has published extensively and written books on Ayurveda, and has lectured worldwide on this subject. Dr. Sharma is a Fellow of the National Academy of Ayurveda, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. He is a Fellow of the American College of Nutrition and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada, and a diplomat of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine and the American Board of Pathology. He is a member of various national and international professional societies. Dr. Sharma is Professor Emeritus and former Director of the Division of Cancer Prevention and Natural Products Research at The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio. He has practiced Ayurveda at The Ohio State University Center for Integrative Medicine since its inception.

David D. Wang, R.Ac, Dipl.Ac, Dipl. C.H, Dipl. ABT (NCCAOM) received his M.D., PhD in China. He had formal medical education and training in both traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine in China. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at OSU, board certified in acupuncture and Chinese herbology. He has practiced Acupuncture and Oriental medicine at the OSU Center for Integrative Medicine and Advanced Acupuncture center. He has had over 30 years clinical experiences. He served as Dean of Oriental Medicine at the American Institute of Alternative Medicine in Columbus, Ohio from 2001 to 2005, where he designed and established the first professional master’s level acupuncture program in Ohio. He also served as Academic Dean, Professor, and Clinic Director at the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in Santa Fe, NM from 1995 to 2000. He is the co-founder and past president of the Ohio Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. The Ohio House of Representatives and Columbus City Council honored Dr. Wang for his outstanding contributions to the field of alternative medicine in 2004 respectively. Dr. Wang also received Excellence in Patient Health Education Interdisciplinary Team Award from the Ohio State University medical center in 2008. David D. Wang is a member of various Acupuncture and Chinese medicine professional organizations. He is an educator at the Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Advisory Committee of the Ohio State Medical Board. He has taught and lectured extensively on traditional Chinese medicine and Acupuncture. He is a publish author. David D. Wang was a senior attending physician at the Beijing Guang An Men hospital before coming to the United States in 1995.

Samuel David Weller, MD is a board certified family physician, member of the American Academy Family of Physicians and Ohio Academy of Family Physicians. He has an interest in educating and working with patients to help them maintain their overall health and control any chronic conditions they have. Dr. Weller has been practicing in Madison County since he completed his residency in Family Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. While in medical school he was a member of the Family Medicine Interest Group and volunteered at the Columbus Free Clinic where he provided care to the underserved. Dr. Weller received his undergraduate degree from Capital University, where he majored in biology with a minor in chemistry. He was born in Circleville, Ohio where he developed his interest in family medicine in a rural practice. Dr. Weller and his wife, Karen, live in Hilliard, Ohio with their three children, Kathryn, Samuel and Elizabeth. They are members of Upper Arlington Lutheran Church.
