Omega Diagnostics Lab

September 2, 2015

Dear Valued Client:

We are now less than one month from the October 1, 2015, federally mandated ICD-10-CM go-live date. On October 1, 2015, medical coding in the US health care setting will change from ICD-9-CM diagnosis and procedure code sets to the ICD-10-CM (diagnosis) code set. Providers in every health care setting and everyone covered by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) are required to begin using ICD-10-CM codes on claims with dates of service on or after October 1, 2015. Omega Diagnostics Laboratory, LLC is prepared for the federally mandated coding transition on October 1, 2015. We will be ready to receive ICD-10-CM coding information and submit claims using the new ICD-10-CM coding.

Physicians and providers ordering laboratory testing services from Omega Diagnostics Laboratory, LLC on or after October 1, 2015 will therefore need to assign ICD-10 diagnosis codes. Note: Any claims for services provided September 30, 2015 or earlier must use ICD-9 codes, even when billed after October 1, 2015.

The billing department at Omega Diagnostics Laboratory, LLC has developed a crosswalk from ICD-9 to ICD-10 in an effort to make this transition as seamless as possible. Please refer to our website for the electronic version of the crosswalk, a hard copy will be provided as well. You may also go to for a free crosswalk.

If you have any questions regarding the ICD-10 coding changes, please contact Alicia McCall, CCS at 318-841-9526 Ext. 1411. For additional information regarding this change, please visit or icd10 .

Sincerely,

Omega Diagnostics Laboratory, LLC
