Job DescriptionForSenior Marketing & Promotions OfficerRESPONSIBLE TO:Director of Fundraising AIM OF THE JOB:As part of our fundraising team you will play an integral role in defining, leading and driving our day-to-day marketing strategy and delivery. You will be responsible for combining a clear strategy with tactical and creative implementation on the ground. Using a range of direct and indirect marketing techniques to raise our profile and expand our audience, increasing uptake of products, active support and visitation. You will engage with corporate partners, media, our members, public and the community. Growing our supporter base and recruiting and retaining partners to maximise income.MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Marketing StrategyBring the new brand to life with all target audiences ensuring consistency and clarity in the charity’s promotions messaging. Develop and execute clear marketing strategies against our priority target audiences and stakeholders including public, corporates, donors, members, communities and groups. Ensure a clear ROI for all ideas and investment, mapping back to our overall objectives. Develop a broader marketing strategy for World Horse Welfare.AdvertisingDevelop a clear strategy for advertising and its role within the overall marketing mix, identifying suitable platforms for maximum effect. Plan all holiday season advertising and key Easter, Summer and Autumn campaigns. Oversee all aspects of the marketing output including writing briefs and copy, proofing and making amendments and approving adverts. Events and ExperiencesPlan marketing for events and experiences. Oversee the management and execution of these events.Work with the Communications Team to decide on media and PR opportunities for these.MembershipHelp develop and steer our membership offers, communications and events. Develop strategies for increasing our membership base. Monitor and report monthly.Manage communication to members with charity updates.Work with Communications Team to ensure that the website is a central hub that clearly promotes our activities, events and promotions. Providing opportunities to connect our audience with the charity. Sponsor a StableyardDevelop and execute a marketing strategy for our Sponsor a Stableyard Scheme. Monitor current growth and report monthly. Develop regular communications with sponsors.Legacy MarketingContinue integrating legacy marketing into all our written and spoken communications.Horse Gifting in WillsEnsure this established and profitable scheme is maximized across our audiences.Visitor data and reportingCoordinate the collection of visitor data to enable better understanding of our audience to develop the offer to visitors and the charitable messaging to potential funders. Budget ManagementManagement of a marketing budget. HEALTH & SAFETYTo ensure the effective implementation of the World Horse Welfare Health & Safety Management System by all staff.To monitor the staff compliance with legal requirements and all World Horse Welfare policies to ensure that all risks within the working environment are reduced as low as reasonably practicable.PERSON SPECIFICATION Experience in a demanding marketing environment and/or marketing qualification Demonstrable experience of setting, tracking and monitoring income and expenditure budgetsA demonstrable track record of running successful marketing campaigns, with a thorough understanding of data segmentation and analysisConfidence to deal with external agencies and suppliers, with the ability to negotiate the best deal on behalf of World Horse WelfareStrong written and oral communication skills, able to clearly articulate the vision of the charity and briefs for staff or external agenciesExcellent time management skills, able to prioritise a demanding workload and work to tight deadlines.Ability to delegate effectively to other members of the teamIT literate – familiarity with the core Windows suite such as Word, Excel and PowerPointThe post holder will be occasionally required to work outside of normal office hours and must be prepared to travel within the UK and occasionally stay away from home when necessaryEquine knowledge is desirable but not essential. ................
