Dear Parent / Caregiver

A range of school activities within our school require general permission and acknowledgement of terms and conditions. We ask that families carefully consider the permission requests below and return to their class teacher by Wednesday 20th February 2019

General Permission is sought for: Technology Acceptable Use Agreement 2019 Walking to Local Sporting Fields (Years 3-6 Students only) Watching PG-rated Movies

Technology Acceptable Use Agreement 2019 The Department of Education (DoE) and the school have a Code of Conduct for the responsible use of ICT including computers, mobile devices and the Internet. Students are required to agree to the following prompt every time they use the Internet.

Conditions of Use K-6 When going online I agree to follow these rules:

1. No to looking for, reading, sending or linking to anything rude, scary or unkind 2. Go to a responsible adult if I see anything rude, scary or unkind 3. Tell a responsible adult about anything I receive, send or read that makes me feel uncomfortable

I agree to appropriate use technology and follow the school rules for online usage. I agree to use only my personal online account and not that of another student.

If a student does not adhere to these conditions the school will follow the Discipline Policy and may impose consequences such as removing access rights, suspension, removal of privileges and/or counselling.

Years K-2 Technology

Years 3-6 Technology

Students in Years 3-6 will utilise a variety of ICT programs. They will use Google Suite for Education to create online documents which will be used for individual and collaborative projects. Google Suite for Education is automatically set up for every child within the DoE. They will also use 3rd party websites to support lessons on Coding and Computational Thinking. These websites may include: Scratch which is an online application that allows students to create graphical programs. Minecraft Education Edition (MEE) which is used to create 3D virtual worlds and simulations. Grok Learning which is an online coding environment that teaches students how to program in Blockly. Access to both Minecraft Education Edition and Grok Learning is controlled via the DoE `single sign on' system that allows students to log into 3rd party systems using their DoE student accounts. Mr Richardson will create students accounts for Scratch ensuring that usernames are not real names and use the same details that are used for Mathletics. In all cases student names will not be publicly visible and are only visible to the student and on the teacher dashboard used to manage students.

YEARS 3-6 PERMISSION TO WALK TO SPORTS FIELDS

Students are provided the opportunity of walking to local sporting fields for school sport. Sporting fields include The Glade, Wahroonga, Karuah Oval, Turramurra and Warrawee Bowling Club

YEARS K-6 PERMISSION TO VIEW PG-RATED MOVIES

The Department of Education approves the activity of students viewing PG Rated movies/programs. Department policy stipulates that teachers will have viewed the movie/program and deemed it suitable for the class and obtained approval by the Principal.
