I first read Saint Faustina's book Diary: Divine Mercy in My Soul when she was plain old Sister Faustina, and a rather daunting twentieth-century mystic. The book freaked me out in several places, especially the locutions from Jesus and the visions of the afterlife. I was drawn to the book, but it frightened me, when I had just come back to the Church after a period of atheism. This was the mid-1980's also, when visionaries, mystics and classic Catholic spirituality was on the wane in the United States. Devotional books as intense as Saint Faustina's had given way to more careful, distanced spirituality. So I put the book away.I came back to it several times over the years, and always found much to intrigue, inspire and challenge me. I found it again in a Eucharistic Adoration chapel a few months ago, and bought it for myself after using it to great effect in prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament exposed. At this point, in my sixth decade of life, with classic Catholicism in full bloom wherever I look, I am finding it a wonderful book to deepen my knowledge of and relationship with Christ. I highly recommend it to Christians, especially Catholics, of all ages. When I first picked the book up in the 80's, Eucharistic Adoration was a dream from the past, as were novenas, the rosary, Benediction, and other devotions and practices of my childhood. Today's younger Catholics are fortunate to once again have ready access to all of the traditional and classic

modes of prayer and devotion that have nourished the Catholic faithful over the centuries. This book was made for the ages -- and the Divine Mercy is now coming into Its own.

Nice book, very inspiring but a bit difficult to read. Sister Faustina was an amazing individual and exceptional as well.

Fascinating book! I could not put it down. Gave me a sense of peace as I read it. Would recommend it to anyone who wonders what existence is all about.

Never thought I'd like this book as much as I do. I read a lot of spiritual/scientific books so this one gives me yet another angle. Saint Faustina was an amazing lady who communicated directly with God and Jesus and documented it in her 4 book diary that she wrote over the course of 4 years that is the main part of this book. Although I haven't finished reading this yet, I thought I would lose interest in her diary after awhile but it keeps getting more interesting. It's a bit reminiscent of the Padgett messages (available online for free) where Dr. Padgett talked to spirits including Jesus via automatic writing. It's another facet of that, the Book of Urantia, the two Life Between Lives books by hypnotherapist Michael Newton, the Edgar Cayce transcripts and the RA Law of One readings. I highly recommend all of those for a well rounded perspective of God, spirituality and the afterlife.This book is different from the others in that it focuses on the feast of the divine mercy, which I had never heard of, and talks more about demons, satan and the importance of suffering than the others.

Everyone, every Christian, should read, and study this divinely inspired work. Words cannot communicate the value of this work. It does without doubt provide a road map to heaven, one provided by our Lord, Jesus Christ. Our Lord guided a simple nun, one without much education, one that would not attempt to embellish his words, in making known His wishes regarding forgiveness and redemption.

This is a great book. I would recommend this to anyone who has lost hope. Faith in the Divine Mercy of Jesus gives a help and hope to those in need. The "diary" is redundant at times and verbose but the message in it and the revelations are amazing! I am still reading this book would encourage anyone to read it.

Wonderful work of St. Faustina - highly recommended to anyone who wants to advance their spiritual life. Came quickly and in good order.

I really love this book. The way this book is written is not a narrative (even though it could be read this way), but rather a series of entries into her diary. I open the book to random pages and it is able to take me to a contemplative state very quickly. I cant say enough about how much this book has helped my spiritual life,
