Carr, CPHIMS Joining the New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA) in October of 2000 as Chief Information Officer, Mr. Carr has responsibility for all information and communication technologies for the Association and its umbrella of companies. Before joining NJHA, Mr. Carr was the senior vice president of software development at QuadraMed Corporation. While part of the senior leadership team, QuadraMed completed their first and secondary public NASDAQ offerings. Mr. Carr is a certified professional in healthcare information and management systems (CPHIMS) by the Healthcare Information and Management System Society (HIMSS) and served on the NJ HIMSS B oard from 2005 to 2014. He also served as chapter president 2013 & 2014. Recently (November 2015) Mr. Carr was invited back to serve on the NJ HIMSS Board. In November of 2010 Mr. Carr was appointed by Governor Chris Christie to a two year term on the New Jersey Health Information Technology Commission. Mr. Carr is the chair of the NJ Dept. of Banking and Insurance ICD-10 Implementation Task Force. Mr. Carr has a bachelor of sciences degree (Information Sciences) from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey (1984).Dr. Peter TippettPeter Tippett, MD, PhD, is considered a pioneer and foremost authority on health IT – with diverse credits ranging from serving on the President’s Information Technology Advisory Committee (PITAC) to creating the first commercial anti-virus product. Tippett most recently served as the Chief Medical Officer and VP of industry solutions at Verizon. Tippett has led the computer security industry for more than 20 years, initially as a vendor of security products, and more recently as a key strategist. He is widely credited with creating the first commercial anti-virus product that later became Norton AntiVirus. Tippett is frequently quoted and has written many articles and papers on enterprise information technology, health IT and information security.Diana Leigh Torok , Security Solutions Executive, Verizon Diana joined Verizon in October 2015 as a primary Security Solutions Executive focused on the Healthcare and Insurance markets in the Northeast. In her current role at Verizon, Diana leads the strategic and tactical security priorities within the Verizon insurance and healthcare accounts. Previous to Verizon, Diana held multiple roles at Symantec, including building the northeast channel and reseller markets across verticals to support revenue growth in a diverse portfolio. Her skillset, combined with over 20 years of IT solutions experience, allows her to build trust and confidence across organizations and multiple departments from compliance to risk and governance. In addition, Verizon’s DBIR and proven security services and solutions allow her to help enterprises conduct individualized self-assessments of risk to help drive realistic decisions on how to avoid cyber threats. The 2015 DBIR expands its investigation into nine common threat patterns and sizes up the effects of all types of data breaches, from small data disclosures to events that hit the headlines. Diana understands the ever changing threat landscape, and joined Verizon to help organizations leverage Verizon’s visibility across the global IP network to provide insight into the nature of attacks to help create appropriate countermeasures. Diana uses this intelligence- driven strategy to allow customer to take proactive approaches to protecting the organization. Ronald Manke, Program Director, NJII Practice Transformation NetworkRon Manke is the Program Director for the Transforming Clinical Practices Initiative -Garden Practice Transformation Network (GPTN). This Collaborative Agreement is a Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) grant. In this role Ron is responsible for overall management and accountability for meeting transformation goals and commitments made to providers. Ron also manages the Northern half of New Jersey while Bill O’Byrne manages the Southern half of New Jersey. Ron has worked in the healthcare IT field for the past 9 years. Prior to GPTN, Ron worked with the Regional Extension Center to bring over 5,000 primary care physicians from paper based records to electronic health records and prove Meaningful Use. NJ-HITEC was one of the top performing regional extension center programs in the nation. Ron managed the Northern New Jersey market and worked closely with physicians and hospitals. Ron delivered many CME’s on Health IT subjects such as PQRS, Meaningful Use, Patient Centered Medical Home and Accountable Care. Ron has worked with several NJ based ACO’s and has been collecting and aggregating clinical quality measures for the past 3 years. He has experience in modifying operational workflows, engaging with providers and change management strategies that help deliver better patient care. Ron is also responsible for a clearinghouse service which delivers transitional care management services to providers in New Jersey. Ron previously worked on the vendor side with an EMR company and communications company where he had 15 years of management experience. Ron was providing automated patient reminders and connecting doctors’ offices together with technology several years ago. Ron holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Phoenix Online. He is also a volunteer fireman in his home town and current officer of the department. He is a Community Oversight Board Member and the Chairman of the Acute & Ambulatory Sub Committee at Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus, NJ.
