PRESIDENT'S GREETING

Welcome to Illinois Association of School Personnel Administrator's (IASPA) 8th Annual Conference. The Professional Development Planning Committee, chaired by Peggy Lynch, has worked tirelessly throughout the year to make this annual conference meaningful to human resource professionals across the state of Illinois. This year's conference provides a variety of topic areas that support key interests uniquely focused on the pressing issues we face as human resource managers in the field of education.

The Conference will kick off with a dynamic keynote address given by motivational speaker, Haydn Shaw. He promises to give us insight into attracting, training, and leading Millennials and why it is imperative to the life of our organization. On Friday, Sara Boucek will "take us down the yellow brick road" as she gives legislative updates, specifically on Senate Bill 315, Senate Bill 7 and Senate Bill 1, and their impact on current practices. Both keynote speakers, bring a wealth of knowledge and experiences that will renew your sense of purpose while providing valuable information that will enhance your personnel departments.

Thursday, January 29th presents an array of sessions designed to provide opportunities for administrative assistants as well as new and veteran human resource directors. Sponsored by Hodges, Loizzi, Eisenhamer, Rodick, & Kohn LLC, the President's Reception offers a wonderful opportunity to network with colleagues across the state and perhaps win one of the fabulous raffle prizes provided by our vendors and regional organizations.

Friday, January 30th will focus on legislative and legal updates. Although, this will be a shortened day, you will be sure to leave with a plethora of legal updates and trends that will enhance your understanding and current practice.

On behalf of IASPA, I would like to thank all of our business partners. We sincerely appreciate their continued support and commitment to our organization. We encourage participants to take time during our Vendor Walks to visit the exhibitors.

Once again, I would like to welcome you to the 8th Annual IASPA Conference. Throughout the year, there are a multitude of opportunities to become involved in IASPA. I encourage you to contact any of the Board members or committee chairs to discuss ways your talents can be utilized to support our membership.

Thank you for providing me the opportunity to be your President this past year. I hope this 8th Annual Conference affords you the opportunity to gain further knowledge that will support you in your position as well as time to meet and connect with human resource colleagues across the state.

Warm regards, Cathy Kostecki, IASPA President
