Sons of God (b'nai ha Elohim)

The Sons of God (b'nai Elohim)

Introduction

Who are the sons of God or the sons of Elohim? That is the question that many Christians ask today, mainly those who are truly seeking the truth. This is a controversial topic that emerged in the Christian church in the 5th Century A.D., when new Christian church leaders abandoned the Jewish or Hebrew roots of Christianity and introduced new doctrines and theologies. Since then most churches and Christian Seminaries have been teaching that the sons of Elohim in Genesis chapter 6 are in reference to the godly sons of Seth. On the other hand, there are many churches today that still teach the original biblical view that the sons of Elohim in Genesis chapter 6 are in reference to angelic beings, rather than men. So which is the true version? Well, in this study I am not going to debate both views. I am only going to concentrate on who the “sons of Elohim” are according to scripture, and in the process I will prove that the angelic interpretation of Genesis chapter 6 is the one and only true biblical interpretation. For more detailed information on the debate between both views you can read the Sons of Seth Heresy study.

The Sons of Elohim

The term “sons of God” or “sons of Elohim,” depending on what bible translation you have, has always been used in scripture (specifically in the Old Testament) in reference to angels. Because the term carries this meaning it is used very selectively. This term first appears in the book of Genesis chapter 6, verse 2 and then again in verse 4.

Genesis 6:1-2 (KJV)

And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

Genesis 6:4 (KJV)

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

In order to understand the true meaning of the English term “sons of God” we first have to do a word search and find out what it means in the Hebrew. Why? Well, because the scriptures or the Old Testament was originally written in the Hebrew language, then it was translated to the Greek language (Septuagint), then to Latin, and finally it was translated to the English language (Old English). Today we have scriptures that are translated straight from the Hebrew language to the English language (The Scriptures Bible). But never the less we still have to look up its true meanings in Hebrew in order to get a clear understanding of the term. Some of the original Hebrew meanings through out the scriptures have been lost due to all of these translations, which is why a word search is important.

Strong’s Hebrew and Greek Concordance (Dictionary):

• Sons (H1121): bên (Hebrew singular) benai or b’nai (Hebrew plural); a son (as a builder of the family name), in the widest sense (of literal and figurative relationship, including grandson, subject, nation, quality or condition, etc.).

Brown-Driver-Brigg’s Hebrew Definitions:

• Sons: bên (Hebrew); son, grandson, child, member of a group, male child, children (plural – male, youth, young men (plural), sons (as characterization, i.e. sons of injustice [for unrighteous men] or sons of God [for angels]), people (of a nation) (plural), of lifeless things, i.e. sparks, stars, arrows (figuratively), a member of a guild, order, class.

Ancient Hebrew Lexicon:

• Sons [A (Nm)]; a son one who continues the family line.

Strong’s Hebrew and Greek Concordance (Dictionary):

• God (H430): Elohim (el-o-heem'); plural of H47; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative: angels, exceeding, God (gods) great, judges, mighty.

Brown-Driver-Brigg’s Hebrew Definitions:

• God: Elohim (ĕlôhîym) (plural); rulers, judges, divine ones, angels, gods, (plural intensive -singular meaning) god, goddess, godlike one, works or special possessions of God, the (true) God.

The Hebrew term is “b’nai” (plural) for sons and “Elohim” plural for God; b’nai Elohim. The “E” on Elohim is capitalized in order to distinguish between Yahweh and the angels, and sometimes when in reference to magistrates or judges, which is written with a lower case “e.” The “im” at the end of the word always indicates that it is in the plural sense.

According to scripture the term “sons of God” (b’nai Elohim) or “sons of Elohim” is exclusively limited to those beings created directly by Elohim, and it never refers to those born from other beings. In other words the term is never used in the Old Testament for humans or hybrids that came into existence by birth. Adam and all the angels were a direct creation of Elohim and so was Yahshua (Jesus) who was conceived in the womb by the Holy Spirit, therefore only they are considered sons of Elohim. For the rest of this study I will be using the name Yahshua for the Messiah instead of Jesus. Yahshua is His real Hebrew name not Jesus. The name Jesus is a mistranslation, I will go into this another time.

Luke 3:38 (NASB)

The son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God

Matthew 8:29 (Scriptures Bible)

And see, they cried out, saying, “What have we to do with You, Yahshua, Son of Elohim? Have You come here to torture us, before the appointed time?”

Matthew 1:18 (Scriptures Bible)

But the birth of Yahshua Messiah was as follows: After His mother Miryam was engaged to Yosĕph, before they came together, she was found to be pregnant from the Set-apart Spirit.

All humans after Adam except for Yahshua were conceived by the seed of man (sperm) converging with the egg of the woman, in other words by human birth rather than divine creation. All humans by birth, except Yahshua, are considered sons of man or ben Adam (sons of Adam), they are conceived in sin and all fall short of the glory of Elohim (Romans 3:23). There is only one exception in the bible, in the New Testament only, and that is for the born again believers (born of above), the set apart ones, whether Jew or Gentile. After the death of Messiah on the cross born of above believers are also referred to as sons of God (b’nai Elohim), but only by adoption thru the blood of Messiah (John 1:12, Romans 8:14-17, 23; Galatians 4:4-7; Ephesians 1:5).

John 1:12 (KJV)

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name

Ephesians 1:5 (NASB)

He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will,

Through Messiah we become adopted children (sons and daughters) of Elohim and heirs of the kingdom. But this happened only after Messiahs death on the cross and according to scripture (the New Testament), the term “sons of God” or “sons of Elohim” applies to all those (human in nature of course, no hybrids) being born of the Spirit and never does it applies anywhere else in the scriptures to man before Messiahs crucifixion. Therefore in general terms, to fit such a category in Genesis chapter 6, only one can qualify and that would be the angels. Adam had already been created and was (if still alive at the time) living in a fallen state, and all that came after him was born of women into a fallen/sinful state, sin was passed down from generation to generation thru the blood (sperm) of man. Yahshua’s time had not come yet, not for thousands of years in the future. Note that this term “sons of Elohim” applies to both good and bad angels (fallen angels). In addition to Genesis chapter 6 this term appears in Job 1:6, 2:1, and 38:7 always referring to the angels not men.

Job 1:6 (KJV)

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

Job 2:1 (KJV)

Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.

In these verses the “sons of God” came to present themselves before Elohim in heaven. Amongst the sons of Elohim we find Satan—an implication that the “sons of Elohim” must have been angelic beings. An important passage that proofs this point is Job 38:4-7. In this passage Elohim challenges Job, who wanted to know why he was suffering. Elohim’s answer to Job in chapters 38-42 was that he doesn’t need to explain Himself because he is the Almighty.

Job 38:1-7 (Scriptures Bible)

Then Elohim answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said; who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Now gird up your loins like a man, and I ask you, and you answer Me. Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if you have understanding. Who set its measurements, if you know? Or who stretched the line upon it? Upon what were its foundations sunk? Or who laid its corner-stone, when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of Elohim shouted for joy?

The actual expression “sons of God” or “sons of Elohim” occurs explicitly three times in the book of Job and in each case the term refers indisputably to angelic beings. There is no doubt in these passages that the meaning applies exclusively to angelic beings. This Scripture clearly indicates that the “sons of Elohim” were present at the very moment of earth’s creation. These sons of Elohim shouted for joy when they saw Elohim’s creative power and handiwork. Therefore, angelic beings are the only entities that fit this designation in Genesis chapter 6 and in the book of Job. Although Adam was also a son of Elohim he was not the first of such beings to be created by Elohim, the angels were created first as we can see in this passage. for Elohim created Adam on the six day after the earth was created, “and Elohim formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being” (Genesis 2:7). He created Adam in the likeness of Elohim (Genesis 5:1).

A very similar term to the sons of Elohim also used in the Old Testament is the term “son of Elah” or “bar Elah” (Aramaic) and it is used in Daniel 3:25, it refers either to an angel or a theophany. A theophany is an appearance of Elohim in the physical form before the incarnation of Yahshua. Here king Nebuchadnezzar looks into the fiery furnace and sees four men, “and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” In other English translations like the NIV and the NASB (Greek version rather than Hebrew) the term used is “son of the gods.”

Daniel 3:25 (KJV)

He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

Daniel 3:25 (Scriptures Bible)

He answered and said, “Look! I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire. And they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of Elah.”

The term “sons of the mighty” or “ben El” in the NIV, the NASB, and the Scriptures Bible is used in Psalms 29:1 and also in Psalms 89:6, KJV, NASB, and the Scriptures Bible, which is also a similar term to “sons of God” and again refers to angelic beings or created beings only by Elohim’s creative act.

Psalms 29:1 (Scriptures Bible)

Ascribe to Yahweh, O you sons of the mighty, Ascribe to Yahweh esteem and strength.

Psalms 89:6 (Scriptures Bible)

For who in the heavens is comparable to Yahweh? Who among the sons of the mighty is like Yahweh?

Another similar term is used in Psalms 82:6 “sons of the Most High” or “ben Elyon” in the NIV, the NASB, and the Scriptures Bible, to indicate created beings, angels, made directly by the divine hands of Elohim. In the KJV the term is “children of the most High” but it means the same.

Psalms 82:6 (KJV)

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

Psalms 82:6 (Scriptures Bible)

I, I said, “You are elohim, and all of you are sons of the Most High.

In this verse we can see that the word “gods” refers to the Hebrew word “elohim,” (H430) in the plural sense with a small “e” rather than a capital “E” as used when referring to Elohim. The word “elohim” in the Strong’s Dictionary means: gods in the ordinary sense; divine being, goddess, godly, exceedingly, great, judges, mighty, rulers, occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative: But referring to angels. In this verse Elohim Himself refers to the angels as “gods” with a small “g” classifying them as lesser gods than He. This is significant because through out ancient history, pre flood and post flood civilizations, the fallen angels appeared before man as gods. This pertains to all the pagan gods worshiped by man in different religions all around the world (includes the theory behind ancient astronauts).

So in essence according to scripture the angels were the first divine beings created by Elohim, with a free will just like man, to assist Him in the stewardship of creation and they are simply referred to in the scriptures as the “sons of God” or “sons of Elohim” and in Hebrew “b’nai Elohim.” Therefore the term “sons of Elohim” is just a general term used in the Old Testament in reference to beings who were brought into existence by Elohim’s creative act. This term applies to all the angels created by Elohim. Today many theologians and Christian pastors teach that the term “sons of God” refers to godly men from the line of Seth. Because of this false teaching Christians start out at a disadvantage when studying the scriptures and they miss out on so much information that they never really come to a full understanding of the Word of Elohim.

Some Biblical scholars in this field of research say that the sons of Elohim referred to in Genesis chapter 6 were at one time members of the Heavenly Divine Council of Elohim. They say that from the very beginning of the Earth’s existence it was through the Divine Council that the Earth would be managed and ruled (Job 15:8; Jeremiah 23:18; Psalms 82:1-6; 89:7 2nd Chronicles 18:18).

Job 15:8 (Scriptures Bible)

Have you heard the secret counsel of Eloah? And do you limit wisdom to yourself?

Jeremiah 23:18 (Scriptures Bible)

For who has stood in the counsel of Yahweh, and has seen and heard His word? Who has listened to His word and obeyed it?

Psalms 82:1 (KJV)

God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

Psalms 82:1 (Scriptures Bible)

Elohim stands in the congregation of Ěl; He judges in the midst of the elohim.

This Heavenly Divine Council of Elohim includes angels called the Holy Watchers. These are guardian and ministering angels whose job is to protect and instruct mankind that they should do uprightness on the earth. They are also given authority by Elohim and the Heavenly Divine Council to issue decrees. Some commentaries say that these are also angels who watch over man kind’s evil ways and record their sins for the Day of Judgment. This concept of the Holy watchers comes from the book of Daniel (4:13, 17, 23) from the book of Jubilee (4:15, 7:21) and from the book of Enoch (chapters 10, 12, 14, 15, 20). In the book of Enoch we read of two types, the fallen watcher angels and the holy watcher angels, who are still in the service of Elohim. The Book of Enoch and the Book of Jubilee are both non conical texts and manuscripts found among the Dead Sea Scrolls. Strong’s Hebrew and Greek Concordance define a watcher angel as a “guardian angel.”

• Strong’s H5894 'iyr (Hebrew), eer; from a root corresponding to H5782; a watcher, i.e. an angel (as guardian): watcher.

The distinguishing character of the watcher angels (opposed to other angels in the Bible) appears to be that it spends much time among men, overseeing what they are doing. That was their purpose when they were created. Every angel was created for different purposes in order to fit Elohim’s plan of creation, weather in the spiritual realm or in the physical realm. Interestingly, Daniel is the only Old Testament (Tanach) use of the term “watcher” to ever refer to angels in the entire Bible.

Daniel 4:13 (Scriptures Bible)

In the visions of my head on my bed, I looked and saw a watcher, even a set-apart one, coming down from the heavens.

Daniel 4:17 (Scriptures Bible)

This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the command by the word of the set-apart ones, so that the living know that the Most High is ruler in the reign of men, and gives it to whomever He wishes, and sets over it the lowest of men.’

Daniel 4:23 (Scriptures Bible)

And as the sovereign saw a watcher, even a set-apart one, coming down from the heavens, and he said, ‘Hew down the tree and destroy it, but leave the stump of its roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and bronze in the tender grass of the field. And let it be wet with the dew of the heavens, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him’ –

Jubilee 4:15

In the second week of the tenth jubilee Mahalalel took unto him to wife Dinah, the daughter of Barakiel the daughter of his father's brother, and she bare him a son in the third week in the sixth year, and he called his name Jared, for in his days the angels of the Lord descended on the earth, those who are named the watchers, that they should instruct the children of men, and that they should do judgment and uprightness on the earth.

Enoch 20:1-8

And these are the names of the holy angels who watch. Uriel, one of the holy angels, who is

over the world, and over Tartarus. Raphael, one of the holy angels, who is over the spirits of men. Raguel, one of the holy angels who takes vengeance on the world of the luminaries. Michael, one of the holy angels, set over the virtues of mankind and over chaos. Saraqael,

one of the holy angels, who is set over the spirits, who sin in the spirit. Gabriel, one of the holy

angels, who is over Paradise and the serpents and the Cherubim. Remiel, one of the holy angels, whom God set over those who rise.

These fallen angels, known as the watchers in the book of Enoch, appear to be the same angels of Genesis chapter 6, the sons of Elohim, who descended from the heavens and had sex with the daughters of man and begot giants. These giants, nephilim in Hebrew, existed during the pre flood and post flood eras. We can also find the same events recorded in the book of Jubilee regarding these watchers who defiled themselves with the daughters of men (5:1-2). In essence all three books parallels to each other.

Genesis 6:1-4

And it came to be, when men began to increase on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of Elohim saw the daughters of men, that they were good. And they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose. And Yahweh said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever in his going astray. He is flesh, and his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of Elohim came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, the men of name.

Enoch 6:1-3

And it came to pass when the children of men had multiplied that in those days were born unto them beautiful and comely daughters. And the angels, the children of the heaven, saw and lusted after them, and said to one another: Come, let us choose us wives from among the children of men and beget us children.

Enoch 15:1-4

And He answered and said to me, and I heard His voice: Fear not, Enoch, thou righteous man and scribe of righteousness: approach hither and hear my voice. And go, say to the watchers of heaven, who have sent thee to intercede for them: “You should intercede” for men, and not men for you: Wherefore have ye left the high, holy, and eternal heaven, and lain with women, and defiled yourselves with the daughters of men and taken to yourselves wives, and done like the children of earth, and begotten giants (as your) sons?

Jubilee 5:1-2

And it came to pass when the children of men began to multiply on the face of the earth and daughters were born unto them, that the angels of God saw them on a certain year of this jubilee, that they were beautiful to look upon; and they took themselves wives of all whom they chose, and they bare unto them sons and they were giants.

While this account encompasses only the first four verses of Genesis 6, the book of Enoch relates this story in great detail. It lists the names of 18 fallen angels, of 200 in total, who descended on the summit of Mount Hermon and committed this sin. I highly recommend that you read the book of Enoch if you haven’t done so yet. These angels descended from their heavenly dwelling unto the earth. Why they did this is uncertain, the Bible does not specify. The Bible does not tell us the time of their descend either, or that they are part of the rebellious group of angels that where kicked out of heaven along with Satan in the beginning. Since there has been only one rebellion of angels toward Elohim it is logical to conclude that these fallen angels were part of that rebellion. As a point of reference we see that these angels indulged in their sexual upheaval before Noah was ever born. The only time reference we have as to when this event first took place comes from the book of Enoch (6:6) and the book of Jubilee (4:15) in the days of Jared when the angels of Elohim, those who are named the watchers, descended upon the earth. Jared was the six from Adam and the father of Enoch (Genesis 5:15-20).

Enoch 6:6

And they were in all two hundred; who descended in the days of Jared on the summit of Mount Hermon.

Enoch 6:7-8

And these are the names of their leaders: Samîazâz, their leader, Arâkîba, Râmêêl, Kôkabîêl, Tâmîêl, Râmîêl, Dânêl, Êzêqêêl, Barâqîjâl, Asâêl, Armârôs, Batârêl, Anânêl, Zaqîêl, Samsâpêêl, Satarêl, Tûrêl, Jômjâêl, and Sariêl. These are their chiefs of tens.

• Mount Hermon (Huhr' muhn): Place name meaning, “devoted mountain.” Its name is explained as referring to the oath, which the angels had to swear upon it (Enoch 6:5). Mt. Hermon, being 9,100 feet above sea level, is the highest mountain in Syria. It can be seen from as far away as the Dead Sea--120 miles. Its peak is covered with snow two-thirds of the year. Water from its melting snow flows into the rivers of the Hauran and provides the principal source for the Jordan River.

According to Genesis chapter 6, the book of Enoch, and the book of Jubilee, these fallen angels committed sexual immorality with the daughters of men and begot giants. They also taught mankind all sort of knowledge that they previously did not have. They taught mankind the making of swords and knives, shields and breastplates (metallurgy in general). Magical medicines; acquainted them with plants for medicinal purpose and even hallucinogenic drug use. They taught mankind the dividing of roots and incantations (charms and spells), sexual depravity, cultic rituals and witchcraft (black magic). Astrology, the seeing of the stars, the course of the moon, and man was led astray and fell to their deception. So as we can see, the succeeding ungodliness and depravity of the human race is not traced back to the fall in the Garden, but to the seduction of the daughters of men and to the wickedness and evil rooted on the earth by these fallen angels.

Enoch 8:1-3

And Azazel taught men to make swords, and knives, and shields, and breastplates, and made known to them the metals of the earth and the art of working them, and bracelets, and ornaments, and the use of antimony, and the beautifying of the eyelids, and all kinds of costly stones, and all coloring tinctures. And there arose much godlessness, and they committed fornication, and they were led astray, and became corrupt in all their ways. Semjaza taught enchantments, and root-cuttings. Armaros the resolving of enchantments, Baraqijal (taught) astrology, Kokabel the constellations, Ezeqeel the knowledge of the clouds, Araqiel the signs of the earth, Shamsiel the signs of the sun, and Sariel the course of the moon, and as men perished, they cried, and their cry went up to heaven.

Enoch 9:6-9

Look at what Azazel has done who has taught all unrighteousness on earth and revealed the eternal secrets which were made and kept in heaven, which men were striving to learn. And Semjaza, who taught spells, to whom you gave authority to rule over his associates. And they have gone to the daughters of men on the earth, and have defiled themselves, and revealed to them all kinds of sin. And the women have borne giants, and the whole earth has thereby been filled with blood and unrighteousness.

Elohim saw that much blood was being shed upon the earth, all type of lawlessness and wickedness was being done (Genesis 6:5-7, 11-12). He saw how the watchers taught mankind unrighteousness, all kinds of sins, and revealed to them the eternal secrets, which were preserved in heaven. How the women had given birth to giants and how the whole earth had thereby been filled with evil. Basically, the earth was in a lawless (chaotic) state on account of these fallen angels and of course Satan, although he is not mentioned, we can be sure he had something to do with this. He was probably the mastermind behind it all, just like he masterminded the fall of man in the Garden of Eden.

Genesis 6:5-7

And Elohim saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And Elohim was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. And Elohim said, “I am going to wipe off man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both, man and beast, creeping creature and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.”

Genesis 6:11-12

And the earth was corrupt before Elohim, and the earth was filled with violence.

And Elohim looked upon the earth and saw that it was corrupt – for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth

Genesis 6:17

I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish.

Afraid of the consequences, these angels appeal to Enoch so that he may intercede with Elohim on their behalf. Elohim instead uses Enoch to deliver a message of judgment against them. Aside from the taking of wives, Elohim states that he would not forgive them for teaching mankind magical arts and warlike ways. Elohim judged the angels for producing the giants (nephilim) and decreed that the fallen angels (watchers), all 200 of them, were to be bound until the Day of Judgment.

Enoch 13:1

And Enoch went and said: Azazel, you shall have no peace: a severe sentence has been passed against you that you should be bound: And you shall not have rest (toleration nor request granted), because of the unrighteousness which you have taught, and because of all the works of godlessness, and unrighteousness and sin which you have shown to men.

Enoch 16:3

You have been in heaven, but all the mysteries had not yet been revealed to you, and you knew worthless ones, and these in the hardness of your hearts you have made known to the women, and through these mysteries women and men work much evil on earth.

Enoch 18:16

And He was angry with them, and bound them until the time when their guilt should be consummated even for ten thousand years.

As a result of their sins Elohim binds these angels. Where? Well according to the New Testament we read in 2nd Peter and in Jude that these angels were chained and bound in hell or in darkness for judgment on the great Day.

2nd Peter 2:4-6

For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment; if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others; if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;

• Hell - tartaros (G5020) (tartaroo). The deepest abyss of Haides, to incarcerate in eternal torment- cast down to hell.

• Greek term for dark abode of woe. The pit of darkness in the unseen world.

• Homer’s lliad portrays tartaros “…as far below Hades as the earth is below heaven…”

This Greek word “tartaros” applies only to the above verse in the entire New Testament. It is a word that is used in Greek mythology to describe the deepest abyss of haides; primarily it is the prison for defeated gods. It is a synonym of the “abyss,” the bottomless pit (abussos G12). The beast of the book of Revelation comes up from the abyss (Revelation 11:7, 17:8). Satan will be thrown into the abyss for 1000 years (Revelation 20:3). Every where else in the New Testament the word “hell” identifies with the Greek word “geenna” (G1067), which comes from the Hebrew word “gehenna,” or with “haides” (G86) which is the Greek word used to describe the place of the dead or of departed souls. Hades in Greek mythology refers to both, to the ancient Greek underworld and to the god of the underworld. The word “haides” appears in the Greek translation of the New Testament as a translation substitute of the Hebrew word “sheol” which was the word used to describe hell (the abode of the dead or the underworld) in the Hebrew Old Testament. Contrary to traditional Christian teachings the New Testament was not originally written in Greek, it was originally written in Hebrew. It was translated into the Greek and in turn these words took on Greek meanings from Greek mythology, which was the terminology that the Greeks understood at that time. Just like the name of the Messiah was changed from the Hebrew “Yahshua” to the Greek “Iusus” (or Iesous), then to the Latin “Iesus” then later to the Old English “Jesus” as it now appears in our English translations of the bible (Google that). I don’t care what anybody says, Jesus is not a Hebrew name and it is not the name of the Messiah.

• Hell – geenna (G1067), gheh'-en-nah; of Heb. or [H1516 and H2011]; valley of (the son of) Hinnom; Gehenna (or Ge-Hinnom), a valley of Jerus., used (fig.) as a name for the place (or state) of everlasting punishment:--hell.

• Hell – haides (G86), hah'-dace; from G1 (as a neg. particle) and G1492; prop. unseen, i.e. “Hades” or the place (state) of departed souls:--grave, hell.

• Hell - Sheol (H7585), [982d]; underworld (place to which people descend at death):-- Sheol.

Jude 1:6, 7

And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their own home--these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day. In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.

In the book of Enoch chapters 18, 19, and 21 it also describes the place where these angels where sent to be bound. It is described as a place beyond a great abyss, which had no firmament of heaven above and no firmly founded earth beneath it, a chaotic and horrible place, a place which is considered to be the end of heaven and earth.

Again, contrary to traditional Christian teachings, these two passages above are not referring to all of the fallen angels (the whole third of the angels) who rebelled against Elohim in the beginning with Satan are locked up. It is referring only to the 200 fallen angels that defiled themselves with the daughters of men in the book of Enoch and to those angels (the sons of Elohim) in Genesis chapter six which are considered to be the same angels.

Perhaps the above passages may also include those other fallen angels (sons of Elohim) who once again after the flood defiled themselves with the daughters of men producing the post flood nephilim. In Genesis 6:4 it says that, “the nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward,” meaning that the nephilim existed on the earth during the time before Noah’s flood and also after the flood waters receded and man once again began to multiply on the face of the earth and daughters were born unto them. Although, it is not specified in the bible how many fallen angels defiled themselves again after the flood. These post flood nephilim were conceived in the same manner as were the pre flood nephilim. Scripture implies that sexual interaction between humans and fallen angels took place in Sodom and Gomorrah, (the breading grounds for post flood nephilim) hence the reason why Elohim had to destroy these cities with fire, just the same as He brought the flood upon the earth.

How do we know that not all of the fallen angels are locked up? Well, scripture tells us so. First let’s put things into perspective, if Elohim had locked up all, or the whole third, of the angels that had rebelled against Him in the beginning then that means that Satan would also have been locked up because he was part of that third, the leader in fact. We know for certain that didn’t happen, because the devil is still out there stirring things up. Furthermore, we also know that’s not true because the book of Revelation tells us that Satan will be bound for a thousand years at the end of the tribulation period, so that means he’s still loose. We can also search the scriptures for proof that not all of the fallen angels are locked up (Job 1:6, 2:1, Daniel 10:13, Romans 8:38, Ephesians 2:2, 3:10, 6:12, Revelation 20:2).

Job 1:6 (KJV)

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

• In this verse we see that the fallen angels came to present themselves before Elohim and Satan came also with them. Job existed after the rebellion of Satan with his angels took place, not before. Therefore this verse proves that not all were locked up.

Daniel 10:13 (KJV)

But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

• In this verse “the prince of the kingdom of Persia” is in reference to a fallen angel. Perhaps an archangel as well, but of the fallen state, who was put in charge by Satan himself to oversee the Persian kingdom and who opposed, kept, or delayed the archangel Gabriel from getting to Daniel. This verse also proves that not all are locked up.

Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

• In this verse Paul emphatically informs us that our fight is not just against Satan but against countless enemies, rulers, authorities, and powers of this dark world. He makes it clear that fallen angels still exists and identifies them as spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. This verse unquestionably tells us that all of the fallen angels that rebelled against Elohim from the beginning are not locked up.

How many in total are locked up? It is impossible to know the answer to this question, but what is important to know, as warriors of Elohim, is to be aware of who our enemies are, and that wicked angelic hosts still exist and occupy the outer realms of earth’s atmosphere. Elohim has bound some but not all, not until Judgment Day when all will be thrown into the lake of fire along with Satan. Therefore, our battles consist not just with Satan but against a whole army of fallen angels and legions of demons. We seriously have to consider the possibility of fallen angelic activity when studying UFO reports, alien abduction cases, and their relation to end time prophecies (Daniel refers to the Iron mixed with Clay).

For those of you who are new to this concept, you are probably wondering how angels can have sexual relations with human women. Traditional Christianity teaches that they can’t, that it is impossible because angels are spiritual entities and they have no physical bodies. Therefore, they lack the equipment necessary, “they neither marry nor are given in marriage” (Mathew 22:30). This is incorrect teaching on part of the Christian church, misconstrued interpretations. Angels are spiritual beings, but, they have celestial bodies and they possess the ability to transform into physical beings when manifesting in the physical realm, the bible is full of such examples. Angels can take on the form and shape of any type of human they desire (Hebrew 13:2, Enoch 17:2). It seems as if they have the power to control and shape physical matter at a molecular level. They are not governed by the laws of physics in the physical realm as we are. Aside from taking on human form, angels can eat, drink, touch, and smell, taste, and do battle, just like any human when in the physical realm (Genesis 18:6-8; 19:3). For example; Yahshua’s human body after His resurrection was transformed into the same type of celestial body that angels have. He was able to walk through walls but at the same time the apostles could physically touch and embrace Him. He could also eat, bread, fish, and drink wine with the apostles in the upper room. We shall also one day have the same type of celestial body that they posses (1st Corinthians 15:38-54). So with this in mind, there is no reason to assume that angels do not contain all the physical properties (organs) of a normal human being when assuming human form, especially those angels who decided to sin against Elohim by taking on wives and living amongst mankind on the earth.

Conclusion

We have established through out our research above that these sons of Elohim in Genesis 6:1-4 are in fact angels that once dwelt with Elohim in heaven and not descendents (or sons) of Seth as traditional Christianity teaches today. These fallen angels had introduced the beginning of uncleanness and the result of this produced a hybrid race of beings known as the giants or the nephilim. This angelic view of the sons of Elohim was standard in the ancient world all the way up to the Apostolic Era (1st to 2nd Century A.D). The Bible, the Septuagint, the Book of Enoch, the Book of Jubilee, the Book of Jasher, the Book of the 12 Patriarchs, the Book of Giants, Genesis Apocryphon, the Book of Antiquities by the Jewish historian Flavius Josephus, and another well-known first century Jewish writer Philo of Alexandria, who also shared Josephus’ views on this topic, are all in agreement that the sons of Elohim were angelic beings and not men, or sons of Seth.

This introduction study to the “sons of Elohim” is important because it is the key which unlocks the mystery or shall I say the secrets that Satan does not want you to know. It is the truth that will set you free. By knowing this you will get a better understanding of the entire bible and the events that have shaped earth’s history from ancient times to our modern times, to world religions and its pagan gods to end time prophecy. Again, even though these books do not mention Satan’s name as part of this rebellious act, you can be sure he masterminded the whole thing. These angels were part of a master plan created by Satan (his first attempt) to pollute the seed of man so that the Messiah (the kinsman redeemer) could not be born and redeem mankind (Genesis 3:15). Satan as well as all the fallen angels are responsible for the godlessness, sexual immorality, bloodshed, wickedness, and all evil that has been going on in this world since the beginning (1st Timothy1:9-11, Jude 1:15, Matthew 15:19, Romans 13:13-14, Galatians 5:19-21, Ephesians 5:3, Colossians 3:5-10). These fallen angels are the authors of paganism, and idolatry they are the so called ancient astronauts (aliens), the false gods of the ancients. They have provided mankind with technological advancements (the heavenly secrets) through out the history of our world, chemistry, physics, mathematics, biogenetics, etc., and especially war machines so that we can continue to shed blood upon the earth just like Cain was led to do in the beginning. They are the basis of this worldly society in which we live in, the secret societies, and the one world government which is to come, probably sooner than most Christians expect. Get ready!!

Ephesians 2:1-3

As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.

2nd Peter 1:4

Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

1 John 5:19

We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.

James4: 4

You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.

Now we can truly understand the meaning behind these scriptures and why Elohim does not want us to be part of this world, a worldly system or society that was created by Satan and the fallen angels many moons ago.
