WELCOME

AT YMCA SUMMER CAMP, kids get to explore nature, make new discoveries, build lasting friendships

and learn the real meaning of face time. Whether they register for a week or the entire summer, we want to surround your kids with fantastic chances to try new experiences and show them all they can do when they believe in themselves.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS: Available based on financial need thanks to our generous donors! Apply at front desk. REGISTRATION: Opens April 1 for Summer Camps. Register online at or at the front desk.

FULL-DAY CAMP DETAILS: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Children should bring a sack lunch, swimsuits and sunscreen/ bugspray each day. AGES: Children entering grades K-5. FEE: $90 per week Members/$125 per week Non-Members LOCATION: Don Sjogren Community YMCA

FULL-DAY CAMPS

GREAT OUTDOORS: JUNE 3-7

We'll kick off Summer Day Camp with all the thrills of camping: nature, crafts and a trip to Harlan County Lake to visit with a park ranger. FIELD TRIP: Harlan County Lake

HARRY POTTER: JUNE 10-14

Ever wanted to experience the wonder of Hogwarts, the excitement of magic classes? A "Week in the Wizarding World" will provide all that with fun activities like making wands, potions, and more. If your child is a Harry Potter fan, we can guarantee that this Week in the Wizarding World will be magical!

WEEK IN HISTORY: JUNE 17-21

Kids will learn important history lessons while having a blast playing oldfashioned games, assembling crafts and exploring a museum.

SPLASH WEEK: JULY 8-12

This camp is pure summer fun with water games, slip n' slides, water balloons and a water-park adventure. FIELD TRIP: Hastings Aquatic Center

MUD & DIRT: JULY 15-19

A little dirt never hurt, especially when it comes to exploring environmental education. Great for outdoor lovers. FIELD TRIP: Prairie Loft in Hastings

CRITTERS & THE FARM: JULY 22-26

Kids will learn all about animals this week as we visit a farm to see cows, horses, dogs and cats. FIELD TRIP: Wessels Living History Farm, York

SPACE CAMP: JULY 29-AUG 2

Jump on board as we observe the night sky and explore the mysteries of space. FIELD TRIP: UNK Planetarium

MAD SCIENCE: JUNE 24-28

This camp is perfect for young scholars who are passionate about science, technology and arts. Kids will build with Legos and do ooey-gooey science experiments. FIELD TRIP: Edgerton Explorit Center, Aurora

GIVE IT AWAY: AUGUST 5-9

Kids will learn the importance and rewards of giving back to the community by participating in several service projects. FIELD TRIP: Heartland Museum of Military Vehicles, Lexington

HALF-DAY CAMPS

SUMMERTIME -- GAME ON! JUNE 10-13

Game On! Campers will learn and compete in games, new and old, GIANT and small, game show games and board games. From an exciting game of GIANT Guess Who to a thrilling round of basketball, campers will be able to experience all the fun and excitement of camp.

MISSION POSSIBLE: JUNE 17-20

Looking for the top detectives in the area to join us as we search for clues and crack the camp codes! Invisible ink, puzzles, and experiments are only part of the fun planned for this week. Campers will master top secret missions with us as we investigate and enjoy a week of camp.

BUCKETS OF FUN: JUNE 24-27

There is no better way to spend a hot summer day than in the water. This week is packed full of water games and experiments to enjoy as we try to cool off from the summer sun.

BUILD ME UP! JULY 8-11

This camp is filled with team-building activities and building unique things. Join your camp friends as we work together on projects throughout the week. Bring your imagination as we turn giant cardboard boxes into new, exciting things.

KIDS CHOICE: JULY 15-18

What better way to spend Half Day Camp than letting kids choose what's next?! This week, kids will be able to choose from a variety of crafts, experiments, games, and much more to make it the best week yet!

KINDNESS & CREATIVITY: JULY 22-25

Campers will unleash their creativity this week in many exciting ways as we learn new ways to do all sorts of crafts. We will also learn about local heroes and pay it forward for all their hard work. Join us for a week of giving back along with some traditional camp fun!

CHALLENGE WEEK: JULY 29-AUGUST 1

This week will put kids' minds to work as they complete challenges of all sorts. Get ready for an escape room, the Amazing Race, and many challenging games. This week is packed full of building various cars, rockets, and structures to see if they can withstand the challenges.

END OF SUMMER BASH: AUGUST 5-8

Kids will have a blast during the last week of summer at YMCA Half Day Camp featuring their favorite summer activities. Campers will enjoy making slime, playing games and other activities to make the last week of summer AWESOME!

PRESCHOOL CAMPS

Preschoolers will be learning, growing and having fun in the YMCA's summer enrichment camps. The camps will engage young minds and encourage social skills and new friendships.

ONE IN A MINION: JUNE 11-13

Break out your goggles and overalls as we get set to be minions for a week. Get ready to make minion crafts and learn the Banana Language.

SOAR LIKE A SUPERHERO: JUNE 25-27

Get ready for an epic superhero adventure! Spend a week in Superhero Training Camp with games and crafts designed to let everyone's superpowers shine.

LET IT GROW: JULY 9-11

Plant the seeds of fun and watch them grow throughout the week as we learn about nature through crafts and experiments.

MAKING WAVES: JULY 23-25

Make a splash and dive in to a week based on the ocean and all the fun that lies beneath its surface.

Kids of all ages are invited to the YMCA summer Kids' Cafe, where they can socialize with friends, eat a FREE nutritious meal and enjoy crafts and games.
