IVHRRA New Member Information Sheet

Welcome To our Club !!!!!

Club Meetings: Club meetings are held the second Monday of the month at 931 Third st, LaSalle IL. @ 7:00PM

The meeting is a great place for members to discuss research techniques and methods, demonstrations of new equipment, how to sessions and general knowledge sharing. Guests are invited to all are meetings.

In addition to all of the great sharing of information, there are three fun events that happen during the meetings. Members and guests can participate in the events.

The first event is the attendance lottery. When members and guests sign the attendance roster, they get a number based on the list. Numbers are pulled in a random drawing. Interesting prizes are awarded.

The second event is a raffle during each meeting. Members and guests can purchase tickets, and then a random drawing occurs. Again, many interesting prizes are awarded.

The third event is a 50/50 ticket drawing. Everyone who buys a ticket gets a chance to split the pot. There is one winner. Cash prize depends on the number of tickets purchased.

We often have a get-together after the meeting for fellowship and coffee or a bite to eat. (Always a good time. )

Find of the Month: At the meetings we have tables set up for exhibiting members’ finds of the month. Please see the Find of the Month Rules sheet for further information and descriptions. Finds displayed are only those that were found since the last meeting. Each attending member then votes for the best or oldest find of the month, depending on the category. Points are awarded to the members that found the items. The points are added from January through December of that year. At the January meeting, prizes are awarded to the top Six members with the highest points.

Hide and go seek: A game where we have numbered tokens (50) hidden in areas within a 50 mile radias. The tokens are redeemable for prizes. There is a list with the locations. You may hunt for them anytime that you wish. Bring the token to the meeting for your prize. We then bury it in a new location.

Perfect Attendance: Please print your name on the attendance sheet each month. It is located at the officers’ table by the President. If you did not sign in, you are considered absent. Perfect attendance is from January through December. At the January meeting of the following year, a drawing is held for all those with perfect attendance. A prize is awarded for the name drawn.

Club Hunts: Club hunts are held once or twice a month, depending on weather. Our Hunt Master or club members select a location(s) that has a lot of history surrounding its use and purpose. The appropriate permissions are obtained (and fees paid if necessary) for the location. Members gather at a designated spot and are briefed about the history and restrictions, then disperse into the field to look for coins and other relics and artifacts. Club hunts start at 8:00 unless otherwise noted. Members usually meet back at a meeting spot around 11:00 a.m. to share their finds and stories.

At this time there will also be a random drawing for prizes. As members of the Illinois Valley Historical Research and Recover Association, we abide and practice the Code of Ethics of metal detecting. Club Hunt Info is available on the Website and Sent in the form of an email.
