This thesaurus was purchased for my 10 year old nephew. He loves words, and he really loves his dictionary. This particular thesaurus was PERFECT for him. I would highly recommend this one to ANYBODY no matter what their age.

This thesaurus is good for carrying around in your backpack and the letters are large enough to read, but the word selection is very limited, only 11000 entries, therefore, it is not the best thesaurus for learning vocabulary for the SAT or the GRE. Words like abrade, abstruse, adject, aficionado, anachronism, angst, apropos, avidity, bludgeon, bucolic, byzantine, . . . , wastrel, wizen, zeitgeist are missing. You need to learn around 4000 words to master these exams and to gain an academic vocabulary, and many of these words are missing from this book. If you are interested in expanding

your vocabulary, I suggest to purchase the Roget's 21st century thesaurus in the dictionary form. My second choice is the Merriam-webster's dictionary and thesaurus. Since, these books are not so expensive, you may want to buy more than one. I like to highlight the words that I search for, so next time I am "in the neighborhood" I can revisit them. This is an advantage that a paper thesaurus has over an electronic one.

These are great little books that are easily kept at a desk or student center. Has enough words to be very fruitful in a classroom, but still small enough to not burden the work areas.

I like it so much. It increases my vocabularies. I need another copies for my nephew and niece later.
