Seattle's Best Coffee Celebrates 36th Anniversary with Blend 36

This Characteristically Smooth Coffee Joins the Hazelnut Mocharoon for Spring in Cafes Nationwide

SEATTLE; March 6, 2006 -- More than 200 Seattle's Best Coffee? cafes nationwide celebrate the Company's 36 years of roasting and serving smooth coffees with the launch of Blend 36 coffee today.

Created with pride to commemorate the Company's coffee heritage, Blend 36 combines the unique qualities of Kenya, Colombia and El Salvador single-origin coffees with Seattle's Best Coffee's signature smooth-roasting process. The nuances of each single-origin coffee combine to yield a full and sweet flavor that lingers on the palette with a wonderfully smooth finish. This coffee pairs perfectly with the fruits and flavors of spring, like lemon cake or raspberry bars. It's the perfect coffee to celebrate 36 years of smoothness.

"With Seattle's Best Coffee's tremendous growth in the last year we're excited to offer what we consider the quintessential Seattle's Best Coffee blend to our guests this spring," said Tom Ehlers, vice president, Marketing and Category for Seattle's Best Coffee.

Available for a limited time at any Seattle's Best Coffee nationwide, Blend 36 comes in 12-ounce bags with a suggested retail price of $9.95. Visit for locations.

Also as part of the celebration, Seattle's Best Coffee cafes are featuring their signature line of classic mochas with the addition of the delicious new Hazelnut MocharoonTM. A rich delicious mocha with a

subtle hazelnut and coconut flavor, topped with whipped cream, bittersweet drizzle and a sprinkle of

coconut toffee, the Hazelnut Mocharoon is delicious hot or iced.

Seattle's Best Coffee currently has more than 200 cafes in the U.S. and Canada. In 2005 Seattle's Best Coffee opened cafes in 137 Borders Books and Music? stores as part of plans to convert more than 400

existing Borders cafes to Seattle's Best Coffee cafes. The 2006 openings began in mid-February in

Borders stores in Michigan, Indiana and Kentucky.
