DEVELOPMENT EDUCATION OPTIONS: At EPCC, some students need to take developmental courses

in Reading, Writing, Math, and/or ESOL based on their placement scores. Designed to prepare students for their college level courses, developmental courses are also offered in accelerated formats to help students reach this level faster. There are many support services available to help students succeed on their developmental paths. Students should enroll in any required developmental coursework their first semester in order to meet college course requirements and not delay degree completion. Scan the QR code below to learn more about EPCC's different developmental options. QR Scan reader required. You can also visit Developmental Education webpage at epcc.edu to access the information.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Associate of Arts in Accounting, Business, and Economics prepares

students to transfer directly into a Bachelor's degree program in Accounting, Business, and/or Economics to a wide variety of careers in those industries. These courses are widely transferable to Texas colleges, universities, and other institutions of higher education and count toward graduation in any Accounting, Business, or Economics major, including all their specializations. The students who plan to major in Accounting, Business, and/or Economics may take some of the following courses as both Core Curriculum and Associate of Applied Science degree requirements.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES: The Accounting, Business, and Economics program at El Paso Community

College can prepare you to seek a career in any of the following: accounting firms; government agencies; financial intuitions; insurance companies; schools and educational environments; and business service firms. Specific job titles within each industry vary (i.e. Accounting Assistant, Bookkeeper, Assistant Manager, Administrative Assistant, etc.).

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS: To graduate with an associate degree, you must have a minimum of sixty

(60) credit hours in the declared major are taken at EPCC. 25% of semester credit hours must be fulfilled for residency. A cumulative grade point average of 2.0 ("C") or better is required for coursework to be applied toward a degree at EPCC. Many colleges and universities will not accept a "D" in transfer and you will need to take the class again at that school. The Associates of Arts (AA) in Accounting, Business, and Economics (AA) program can be taken at the Northwest Campus, Transmountain Campus, and the Valle Verde Campus. The Core Curriculum consists of nine fundamental component areas. Courses chosen must satisfy the required credit hours for each component. Students should consult the particular degree requirements for their major before selecting the courses to be used to meet the Core Curriculum requirements. EDUC 1300 is required for all AA Degrees. All courses used for transfer purposes must be completed with a "C" or better.
