WELCOME TO OFFICE 365

Introduction

Office 365 gives you the software and products that you need, when you need them, where you need them. Whether you're working in the classroom, your office or on the go, you get a familiar, top-of-theline set of productivity tools. Office applications--always the latest versions--let you create, edit, and share from your PC/Mac, iPad?, tablet, or phone with anyone in real time.

Signing In

To log in to your account, sign in through the online portal at portal.. You can always access this link on the main web page for the college at alpenacc.edu, by clicking on the Outlook icon on the top right. On smaller screens, you may need to click the "+" plus icon to reveal the menu.

As a new student, you should have received a paper from the Admissions office, through mail or during orientation containing your Office 365 e-mail and password credentials. Use your new e-mail address, which will consist of the same user ID used for Blackboard followed by @myacc.alpenacc.edu. If you have not yet received or no longer have, this information, please contact the ACC Help Desk at (989) 358-7374 or by e-mail at helpdesk@alpenacc.edu.

When you sign in for the first time, you will be required to change your password. Your new password must be strong, consisting of at least 8 characters utilizing lower and uppercase letters, numbers and special symbols. If you request help using the "Forgot My Password" link, a notice will be sent to the ACC Help Desk and a college staff member contact you via phone to reset your password if applicable.

Once your password is updated and you have signed in, you will also be required to accept the Alpena Community College Terms of Use agreement in order to proceed with using your account.

Setting up your Apps

Get the full functionality of the Office products, including Outlook email, Calendar, OneDrive, and of course Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. You may access the web-based versions of these applications by logging into your account. Simply click one of the Office icons to go directly to one of the applications. Documents created here are saved to the cloud under your OneDrive account, so you can access them anywhere at any time. You are eligible to install Office software FREE of charge on up to 5 devices. At your initial log in, you will see the screen below. To install the software to your computer, select the "Install Office" dropdown and choose "Office 365 Apps."

Select an application to use via the web. Your student e-mail account will be accessed through Outlook.

To install Office to your computer, select "Install Office," then choose "Office 365 apps" ...

Follow the instructions to complete the installation and use the applications on your computer. It is a large download ? so we recommend using a high-speed internet connection if available.
