Office 365 Student Installation Instructions

Introduction

What is Office 365?

Office 365 is an online Office program that can be installed on your computer for offline use.

How much will Office 365 cost me?

Office 365 is provided free to all students of NTC.

Warnings

1. Mac users cannot activate Office 365 on NTC's wireless connection. It is recommended that Mac users activate Office 365 off campus.

2. Office 365 may take up to 30 minutes to install, depending on your computer's hardware.

Installing Office 365

1. Sign into your NTC student email at 2. Click on the Office 365 link at the top left of the page

3. You will be redirected to the Office 365 page. Click Install Office 2016. You will then be prompted to specify the download location.

Note: To make it easy to remember this save location, we recommend using the Downloads folder on your computer. 4. Office will begin installing in the background. You may experience a larger window, just ignore this until the installation process is done.

5. If you have any Office documents currently open, it will ask you save your work.

Warning: Make sure you save any changes you have made in any Office application before hitting Continue, as it will close any open documents.

Note: The remaining steps may not be in the same order as your individual installation process. 6. Click Next

7. Choose Use recommended settings and click Accept

8. You can either watch this video, which contains an introduction to Windows 8.1 and Office 365, or select Next

Note: Your installation process might skip the video introduction or the Operating System values may be different. Select Sign In

9. You may be the following prompt. If so, hit Yes to continue

10. Enter your student email address (e.g. student@students.ntc.edu) and click Next
