OVERALL ROLE OBJECTIVE:

The testing personnel are responsible for specimen processing, test performance and for reporting test results.

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Each individual must only perform those high complexity tests that are authorized by the Clinical Testing Laboratory Director and require a degree of skill commensurate with the individual's education, training or experience, and technical abilities.

2. Each individual performing high complexity testing must-

(a) Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results;

(b) Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens;

(c) Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed;

(d) Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance;

(e) Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and must correct the problems and document the correction or immediately notify the General Supervisor, Technical Supervisor, Clinical Consultant, or Laboratory Director;

(f) Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications; and

(g) Perform high complexity testing only under the onsite, direct supervision of a qualified General Supervisor.

3. The Laboratory Testing Personnel shall perform tests which require the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility, with a minimal supervision by the director or supervisor, in only those specialties or subspecialties in which they are qualified by education, training and experience.

4. With respect to specialties in which the medical technologist is not qualified by education, training or experience, they shall function only under direct supervision and perform only tests which require limited technical skill and responsibility.

GENERAL ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

|Quality |Ensure that all tasks completed are done so in compliance with Almac|

| |Diagnostics internal SOPs and Quality manual, and all applicable |

| |standards/regulations such as ISO15189, GCP, CAP/CLIA. |

|Health & Safety |Understand Company’s Health & Safety Policy and follow all company |

| |HSE procedures. Report all accidents or any unsafe conditions in |

| |the work place. |

|Training and Development |Ensure training has been received before undertaking specific duties|

| |and that all training is recorded in training records. |

|Human Resource Management |Adhere to all HR policies and procedures, to include all absence |

| |policies and procedures. |

|Communication |Communicate within your own department to ensure that all relevant |

| |information is forwarded to the appropriate personnel on a regular |

| |and timely basis. Provide regular updates to your line manager |

| |regarding progress on required duties and the status of any |

| |projects. |
