In this issue, you may have already noticed, we are premiering one of our newest parts, the 55-57 custom carpeted floor mats. We are very proud of the custom look and fit of these mats and of course the quality. In light of these new parts we thought it would be fitting to do our installation article on them. As you can imagine, a floor mat installation article isn't the most impressive of installation articles, so we decided to throw in the carpet and seatbelts. Besides, it gave us a good excuse to run a special on the carpets and seatbelts. Let's get started.

REMOVAL

The first thing you need to do is remove your old carpet. 1.) Remove both sill plates using a Phillips head screwdriver. 2.) Remove the gas pedal by removing the two 7/16" bolts securing it as shown on page 3. 3.) Remove the seat adjustment

knob. 4.) Remove the lower and side seat wrap arounds. 5.) Remove the four rear bolts holding the front seat in place. 6.) Loosen (no need to remove) the four front bolts on the front seat. 7.) You should

now be able to slide the seat back and lift it out. 8.) All that needs to be removed of the rear seat is the lower cushion. This is easily done by lifting it up from the front and then pulling it out. 9.) Now pull up the old carpet and clean the floor.

The Watkins outfitted their car

with quite a few "shiny bits" from Danchuk, including the door handles, chrome radiator cover and steering box cover, as well as rubber parts. "We have the V8

radiator fitted in the six position with the trans cooler and A/C etc. fitted outside that," Robyn says. "With the coolflex hoses and chrome and Pro-Coated bits, the engine bay looks really smart." In the future, they have plans to fit in an Ididit chrome tilt steering column. "I love the car," exclaims Robyn, "and really enjoy driving it! Of course, when I can get my husband out of the driver's seat!"

Reinstall front seat and secure. 6.) Tuck rear

section under front seat. Be sure to thread

the front seat belts through the slit in the carpet.

7.) Install front seat wraps and adjustment knob. 8.) Install rear seat cushion. 9.) Reinstall sill plates.

SEAT BELTS-PART 2

The assembly manual shows the seat belts wrapped around the outside of the seat and slid through the opening between the backrest and bottom cushion. This way is absolutely fine. The way we did it to make it look a little more trick was to thread the side belt between the seat frame (as shown) to

keep it a bit more hidden. Then we took the center belt and went from underneath and made a small slit in the seat to hide it. The only problem with this is if you don't have some kind of reinforcement sewn around the slit the belt is coming through you risk tearing your beautiful seat. We have yet to have a problem but this certainly doesn't mean you won't.

FLOOR MAT INSTALLATION

Now for the tough part. You should probably hire a professional for this next procedure but we'll try to walk you through it if you want to try it yourself. 1.) Open the door. 2.) Throw out the old floor
