Position Summary

The Financial Literacy Program Coordinator helps to ensure delivery of GSCM's financial literacy programs to girls in grades 4 through 12 in Title 1 schools and communities, via in-school programs, troop activities and special events. This position will recruit financial industry professionals to help deliver GSCM's financial literacy program to girls. The position will also literacy workshops for their peers. This position works in the office approximately 25% of the time and in the field approximately 75% of the time. This is a grant-funded, part-time position, averaging approximately 20 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

? Train troops in Title 1 areas to deliver GSCM's financial literacy program to eligible peers (Title 1 school students) via 4-6 hour workshops and to have participants fill out standardized survey forms.

? Assure each girl who completes any of the Financial Literacy curriculum receives three badges and completes and returns a survey.

? Assure Toyota Tip Sheet distribution and monitor quantities/locations is distributed on paper and electronically.

? Organize two community service days involving Toyota dealerships/employees who collaborate with GSCM staff on delivering activities that may include: - girls get a "passport" with virtual identity (profession, salary and credit score) - learning stations re: car buying, car repair; girls get "passport" stamped - sessions for parents to attend while girls are doing stations

? Seek donations of car care-related coupons or car care kits to give parents as incentives for accompanying their daughters to community events,

? Recruit volunteers from banks and credit unions to co-deliver GSCM's financial literacy program in schools and community events.

? Collaborate with GSCM's STEM specialists to create a finance-related math program component (computing a budget, calculating interest rates, etc.). Develop/refine ageappropriate curriculum based on $mart Cookie curricula, and GSUSA badge activities for "Budgeting," "Financing My Future," "Financing My Dreams," "Savvy Shopper," "Comparison Shopping," "Buying Power," and "Good Credit" to minimize variability between programs being offered to in-school groups and to troops; and therefore budget supply items needed to deliver the program including badges for each badge curriculum covered.

? Assure two Take Action Projects are identified and paperwork from Girl Scout Member is processed by GSUSA deadlines. Verify progress and spending of Silver and Gold Award projects that GSCM staff have determined meet criteria for funded Take Action projects

? Collaborate/Coordinate with GSCM's Communications Department to develop a Financial Literacy Campaign as well as develop outreach campaign to raise awareness of Toyota scholarship program and the summer Toyota Internship Program.

? Travel within central Maryland (Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard counties and Baltimore City) to help plan and conduct financial literacy programs and events
