The ECE Department at the University of Illinois at Chicago invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position. Outstanding candidates in all areas of electrical and computer engineering will be considered, including but not limited to the following areas: (1) Bioelectronics and Biomedical Systems (bioinstrumentation, biological signal processing and medical imaging); (2) Computer Engineering (computer networks, computer systems, embedded systems, VLSI design and CAD); (3) Electronic and Optical Devices (computational electronics and electromagnetics, electronic materials, nanoelectronics, optoelectronics, power electronics and next-generation energy systems); and (4) Information Systems (communications, computer vision, intelligent systems, robotic systems, signal and image processing). Exceptional candidates may be considered for a tenured position. A Ph.D. in Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering or a closely related field is required.

The University of Illinois at Chicago is one of four Carnegie Foundation Research-I universities in the State of Illinois and the largest institution of higher education in the Chicago area with an annual operating budget in excess of $1 billion. It ranks in the top 50 of all research universities in the US in federal research funding received, with over $400 M received in the last year. The ECE Department has about 28 faculty members, among them 16 IEEE Fellows, and offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees to over 500 undergraduate and 200 graduate students.
