The Niagara River Lions of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) are a professional domestic basketball team competing against teams across Canada. Playing out of the Meridian Centre in downtown St. Catharines, the River Lions provide sports fans with a premium entertainment option while also allowing players, coaches and other stakeholders the opportunity to engage in the sport of basketball at the highest level.

Position Overview;

This position will be responsible for direct and indirect revenue generation for all major sales units within the organization (sponsorship, ticketing, sales). The position will report to the club's President and will also be overseen by the organization's ownerships group.

Roles and Responsibilities;

Develop a pipeline of qualified sponsorship prospects and new revenue opportunities large enough to meet or exceed pre-determined financial goals and in-kind sponsorship targets

Engage existing partners to ensure that they are satisfied with their current partnership assets while also identifying unique ways to further engage them season over season

Manage client relationships from initial pitch through transition, to long-term engagements and strategic partnerships

Diffuse and solve internal or external challenges that pose a threat to relationships or impede on sales success Gain a full understanding of client marketing needs and business models in order to expedite sales cycle Create resounding and strategic sales approaches, proposals, documents and presentations Develop a comprehensive understanding of Stadium capabilities to accurately articulate Stadium value

sponsorship Contribute ideas and promote a team-oriented culture to positively impact overall goals and objectives Oversee and provide strategic direction for day-to-day ticket department operations Implement organized systems, process, and measurements to effectively and efficiently manage department

(such as detailed reporting, structure, and accountability exercises etc.) Manage all ticket department staff and help to facilitate ownership's goal of creating a first-class environment for a

professional basketball team. Maintain communicative and collaborative working relationships with other internal departments Acts as club ambassador within the business community Other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Club

Qualifications & Requirements;

Bachelor's degree in business administration, sales or sport management preferred Results oriented and goal focused, motivated by a rewarding commission-based compensation plan Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills; high energy and proven motivational skill set Demonstrated ability to influence Passionate about the quickly evolving digital and linear industries Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including advanced negotiation skills Ability to understand the needs of the sales, audience development, production and technology teams 5+ years experience in revenue development with progressively responsible roles focused on integrated

sponsorship and ticket sales endeavours Inside AND outside sales experience strongly recommended

Compensation;

Competitive base salary + commission

Hours of Operations;

Regular office hours (9AM-5PM) Evening and weekend work is required
