This job description provides a general guideline to the most common duties, responsibilities, and minimum requirements for this position. It is not all inclusive and the actual position may vary as circumstances indicate or as determined by the Foundation and Association. Working hours are primarily normal business hours, although the Vice President of Program Impact will need to work varied hours to include nights and weekends, as business needs dictate.

Summary of Position:

The Vice President of Program Impact plays a pivotal role within the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF). Serving on behalf of the Executive Vice President as a senior leader of the Foundation, the Vice President of Program Impact will have strategic and operational responsibility for all program areas. The position will be a part of the Foundation's leadership team that drives the organization's overall strategy and operations. With a program team of dedicated professionals, the Vice President of Program Impact will be responsible for program leadership, planning and delivery; knowledge management and internal learning; and relationship building both inside and outside of the enterprise.

Principle Duties:

LEADERSHIP

Works closely with the Executive Vice President and the senior leadership of the NRAEF in creating the overall strategy and mission

Embodies the core competencies and values of the Foundation at all times and positively promotes the Foundation's culture

Displays ethical bearing and decision making at all times and is held up as an example of what the Foundation stands for

Personifies an executive presence, a dynamic professional style and the ability to inspire confidence to all levels of the organization and with all constituencies

Proactively leads his/her team by providing direction, goals, and communication on key issues that will empower them to gain results

Responsible for engagement and morale of his/her team, and ensures that strong positive relationships are developed with other departments and other stakeholders

STRATEGY

Develops and leads the program strategy of the NRAEF to advance the Foundation's mission; and oversees and implements plans in close cooperation with the Executive Vice President and other senior NRAEF executives

Critical in identifying, framing and executing the key programmatic goals and objectives of the NRAEF at a national level

Establishes and maintains high-level contacts with a wide variety of industry and non-industry individuals and groups who are in a position to compel/promote the NRAEF story, mission and goals

PROGRAM IMPACT

Directs and oversees all aspects of program strategy, planning, and delivery Provides leadership, guidance and innovation to ensure quality, integrity, and continuous improvement of

organizational programs and project management Leads implementation and review of programmatic aspects of the Strategic Plan and initiates steps to align staff

roles, responsibilities and activities with organizational priorities Oversees the programs team to develop compelling, impactful programming to advance the nation's workforce

and our industry Directs operations of team by building functional excellence and fostering meaningful career development Develops and grows the organization's program staff by coaching, retaining, developing, and recruiting high-

performing team members Provides leadership in the development of inter-team communication and cohesiveness, sustaining a

participatory and empowering culture while supporting staff during organizational growth Expands and manages relationships with partner organizations from the advocacy, association, public policy,

philanthropy, research, and other spheres Ensures that the organization remains a cutting-edge innovator within the workforce development sector,

adapting to new realities, incorporating new approaches, and expanding alliances and audiences Responsible for a multi-million dollar budget; defines financial needs and maintains budget parameters Participates in annual processes such as budgeting, goal setting, and performance reviews Develops innovative initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness throughout the office Utilizes analytical metrics for monitoring results and improving performance Articulates and establishes measurable goals, objectives, and metrics for assessing, reporting, and improving

impact. Develops and enhances the systems needed to gather internal and external organizational performance

information and utilize it to assess, improve, and demonstrate organizational impact Partners with all department leads to ensure that performance management remains a priority, to foster high-

performing staff, and to see that all staff have opportunities to learn and grow in their roles Working with the Development team, participates in fundraising from idea generation to donor stewardship to

proposal development to organizational promotion and accountability Serves as an ambassador, spokesperson, and high-profile organizational leader before a range of stakeholder

audiences and in the media

Position Specifications:

1. Essential Use of Following Tools:

Computer literate (Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint applications)

2. Essential Training/Certifications:

Ideal candidate should have 10-15 years' experience leading a dynamic, complex organization in for-profit sector, non-profit organizations or institutions of higher education

Experience in or knowledge of the restaurant industry is preferred Bachelor's degree is required; advance degree preferred

3. Essential Skills/Knowledge:

Considerable people management skills; capable of acting as leader, advisor, mentor, and coach

Demonstrative abilities in collaborative team building and consensus Strong strategic vision in areas of business and the programmatic arena with strong understanding of the

restaurant industry Seasoned leader with demonstrated success in management and strategic direction Established and proven relationships in the government arena with demonstrated coalition building skills Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills Significant business and stakeholder relationship building experience Responsiveness to change and leads as a change agent Significant communication skills in written and verbal formats; showcases clear and concise manner Ability to persuasively communicate complex concepts and programs at the highest levels of business Strong organizational skills Problem-solving skills and able to create strategies to achieve defined goals Time management skills Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills Ability to work as part of a team and to work independently; a self-initiator, versatile and assumes risk with

responsibility

4. Essential Mental Requirements:
