Let me be the hands...

We invite you and your church to partner with Gadsden-Etowah Habitat for Humanity as we work together to eliminate substandard and poverty housing in Etowah County. Come....be the hands of Christ here on earth. Building has started. Four local families will be working toward homeownership in the coming months! Here's how your congregation, small group, or Sunday school class can partner with Habitat :

Pray for Habitat and its partners. Psalms 127:1 ? "Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain."

Invite us to share our housing ministry with your church, class, or small group.

Include Gadsden-Etowah Habitat for Humanity in your 2019-20 Home Missions budget and plans!

Volunteer! We typically work on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. There are also many other opportunities to volunteer on committees, such as Family Support, Family Selection, Special Events and more. Why not use your volunteer hours as service or outreach for low income families living in your own community?

Participate in a Habitat program such as a Circle of Faith build, the Square Foot Program or become a Covenant Church. We welcome the opportunity to visit your church and explore programs that would be a good partnership with your church.

MEMORIAL

Sometimes in your life

there's a one-of-a-kind

influence that shines

brightly and warms your

heart with gladness. We

recently lost such a bright

star in the Habitat minis-

try--Betty R. McElroy

died Feb. 8, 2019 at 93.

Betty--Feb. 2011

She was a beloved volun-

teer for nearly 25 years and drew much pleasure from serving

others. She had a generous heart and many talents. Using her

woodworking skills, she made a special

key for each family, made brightly colored

name plaques for each child, and would

attend every groundbreaking and house

dedication ceremony. Betty was known for

her quirky t-shirts, love of animals, and her

riding

lawnmow-

er. She was

a woman of

Betty--2016 faith who inspired so

many others through her loving

example and generous deeds to

many non-profits in our commu-

nity. We'll miss you, dear Betty.
