Summer Camp Policies and Procedures

? The online registration system requires full payment at the time of registration for all camps. Mastercard and Visa are accepted.

? Early Bird Discounts. An early bird discount of $25 for each 2 week session of BASE Camp and Camp 678 is

applied if you register before April 1, 2019. An early bird discount of $10 for some 2 week Enrichment Camps, $5 for each 1 week Sports Camp and $5 for Kindergarten Prep is applied if you register before April 1, 2019.

? The registration deadline for all camps is at 8 AM, 1 week before the camp begins or earlier if camp fills

up. Example: If camp begins Monday, July 22, registration ends Monday, July 15 at 8 AM.

? Once the registration deadline passes, you will NOT be able to register online.

? Refund Policy for Camp Withdrawals ? Written notification required for all withdrawals.

Before June 1 ? Elementary BASE & Middle School Camp 678: Tuition is 100% refundable, minus the withdrawal fee of $50 per session and the $50 non-refundable registration fee. Before June 1 ? Enrichment and Sports Camps: Tuition is 100% refundable, minus the withdrawal fee of $25 per camp. Between June 1 and 2 weeks before any camp begins: Tuition is 50% refundable. The $50 registration fee for BASE Camp or Camp 678 is non-refundable. Example: If camp begins Monday, July 8, the refund request must be received by Monday, June 24. During the 2 weeks prior to any camp start date: Tuition is non-refundable. Example: If camp begins Monday, July 8, and we are notified on or after Tuesday, June 25, there is no refund.

? Switching camps is considered a withdrawal. ? Medical withdrawals will be considered only when it is the registered camper that is ill or injured.

? Confirmations and Receipts. Payment receipts are automatically emailed upon enrollment. A detailed confir-

mation letter will be emailed about 5 days before each camp starts. To avoid these emails from going into your spam folder, add program.registration@ and info@ to your contact list.

Lunch Program for BASE, Camp 678, & Full Day Enrichment Camps

Chartwells Dining Services, the same company the school district uses for lunch during the school year, will provide lunch at no additional cost for all students who attend BASE, Camp 678, or combine an AM & PM Enrichment Camp. Students can choose from a hot meal, sandwich, salad or vegetarian option each day. Menus for each camp session will be included in the detailed confirmation letter you will receive via email about 5 days before each camp session starts. For more information on lunch, contact Michele Armstrong, Director of Chartwells Dining Services, at Michele.Armstrong@compass-. Parents can opt not to participate and send in a bag lunch with their child.

Sliding scale tuition for South Brunswick residents only.

We offer a limited amount of tuition assistance to eligible South Brunswick families based on household income and family size. Priority for assistance is given to current Community Education Before & After School families. (Please note that the State Childcare Subsidy program does not cover the entire cost of camp. Families are required to contribute towards the difference between the state subsidy and the cost of the program.) To qualify for assistance for full day camps, all adults eligible to work in the household must be employed. Assistance is not available for all camps. The deadline for forms and supporting documents, including State Subsidy forms, is April 1*. After this date, assistance may not be available. Visit the website or email Maria.Chavkin@ for registration and application details. *The Tuition Assistance deadline for Jump Start into South Brunswick Kindergarten is June 30.

BASE Camp is designed for elementary school children. There are a wide variety of weekly themed activities planned for campers, as well as a mixture of interest-based clubs and activities. Campers participate in many engaging activities and new experiences, while making new friends, learning, and having a FUN summer at camp!

Camp 678 is designed specifically to meet the needs of middle school students. Each week campers are given a menu of theme-based activities and projects. By making choices based on their own interests, campers build lasting friendships, develop leadership qualities, build self-esteem, and most importantly, have fun!

E Each day, your child will be on a trip from approximately 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. In previous years, our students had a

great time at Funplex, Jenkinson's Aquariun, Liberty Science Center, Sahara Sams's Water Park and Blackbeard's Cave

Family Entertainment Center.

Students are separated into different age/grade groups throughout the day. This includes at the field trip location, on

the buses and at the school. Transportation and entrance fees are included in the tuition. ? Neither the Early Bird Discount nor Tuition Assistance is available for Travel Camp.

Viking Soccer Camps

Whether your child is trying out for their middle or high school teams, preparing for their recreation season, or beginning to learn the sport, these camps will provide a week of fun and learning! Campers will learn dribble moves, shooting and passing techniques, the proper way to play defense, and how to communicate effectively. We will play full sided and small sided games everyday, in addition, to having contests such as a penalty kick shootout and juggling. Players are grouped by ability, age, and size. Join us for a week of fun learning experience playing soccer.

Chris Hayston, Boys Director

Chris Hayston has been the boys Varsity soccer coach at SBHS since 2003. During the time, Coach Hayston has had over 30 players play college soccer with 8 at the Division 1 level. We have been to 9 GMC county finals during that time winning in 2009 and 2015.

Alexandra Bravo, Girls Director

Alexandra Bravo is a TCNJ graduate and collegiate soccer player. She began her coaching career for the SBHS girls soccer program in 2015. During this time, we won a GMC championship in 2015, and made it to the county final in 2016.

Join the Vikings assistant coach, Robert Haberthur, and former players for the annual lacrosse camp. Coach Haberthur has been coaching lacrosse at South Brunswick High School for 18 years. He has also coached many high school and youth level lacrosse summer camps and tournaments. Camp emphasis includes the fundamentals of catching, throwing, scooping, dodging, shooting, facing off, positional skill work, defensive and offensive strategies and full field games, including the fastest shot contest. Heather Wells is entering her 8th year as the SBHS Varsity head coach, and has played and coached softball for years. The Viking Softball Camp will focus on basic offensive and defensive skill development, including throwing, catching, hitting, sliding, and base running. Players will be introduced to softball specific conditioning and fitness techniques. Players will be divided into groups based on grade and will receive age appropriate training. Players will learn how to be a good teammate throughout the week and how to work together to achieve a common goal. Mini sports related arts and craft projects will take place in the final hour. Bring a plain white t-shirt on the second day of camp.

Tim Sweeney has been a baseball coach at SBHS since

2002. The camp is run by SBHS Baseball coaches and

current players who will provide the fundamentals to

young baseball players in a fun and exciting way.. Player

development will cover five key areas: pitching, hitting,

fielding, throwing and base running. Each day includes

individualized, team and small group instruction from

Chris Ruskie, Director

Chris Ruskie is in his 12th year coaching track and field at South Brunswick High School as the head coach of the boys' winter track team and assistant spring coach where he works with the boys and girls throwers. Coach Ruskie was named the 2014 GMC Coach of the Year for the winter season. He also coached the sprinters and jumpers at Crossroads Middle School. He has been involved in track and field for 20 years as an athlete and coach. Bring training shoes, water bottle and snack to camps.

Kyle Niemis has coached the Crossroads middle school team for 10 years and the Cross Country team for 7 years. Under his leadership both teams have had multiple undeafeated seasons and GMC trophies. Bring training shoes, water bottle and snack to camps.

Wilfredo Rivera, Director

Wilfredo Rivera is in his 15th year as head coach of the Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams. Coach Rivera, a Rutgers graduate and varsity athlete, led the boys to the 2014 Central Jersey State Group IV Sectional Cross Country Championship and the ladies to the 2008 Central Jersey State Group IV Sectional Cross Country Championship.

Get a head start on the upcoming season and enjoy training with your future teammates. Besides running each day, campers learn about training methods, running form, pacing, nutrition, race strategy and proper equipment. Transportation to local parks and running trails is included. Bring training shoes, water bottle and snack.

Kacy Kelly, Girls Director

Jeff King has been coaching the boys at SBHS for ten years

and has been the Boys Varsity Volleyball coach since 2015.

Kacy Kelly is an alumni of SBHS, where she played Varsity

volleyball. She just finished her 4th year as head coach of

the SBHS team. Coach Kelly led the SBHS Lady Vikings to

the GMC tournement finals this past season.

In the Track & Field Camp, campers will learn about

and practice the various events of track and field includ-

ing sprints, distance, relay races, long jump, shot put and
