MINISTRY EXERIENCE

Senior Pastor, Lost Mountain Baptist Church, Powder Springs, GA

March 2011 ? October 2018

An established church (142 yrs. old) in a suburban area which relocated in 2005 to 35 acres with a multi-phase building plan after four years (2002-2005) of explosive growth. Upon arriving in early 2011 the church was suffering a sharp decline in attendance. The internal conflict was due in part to the lack of a unified relocation strategy, the lack of organizational church structure for growth, and the lack of a financial plan to handle the burden of $5.3 million indebtedness. In my 7 ? years there I lead the church to strengthen its missional, organizational, and financial hardships by building trust with key leaders as well as the congregation as whole. Lost Mountain stabilized by unifying its mission, multiplying its volunteers, and reducing its debt. The church is stable and growing again to well over 350 in Bible Study and Worship.

Notable Achievements: ? Led staff and deacon's to discover and address a healthy growth culture ? Helped bring healing and reconciliation to key leaders in conflict ? Developed and implemented a debt retirement strategy "Forward Together" which reduced 2.3 million dollars of indebtedness. ? Led church to emotionally and spiritually transition from their relocation. ? Created and developed 7 ministry teams where 52% of member participated ? Called, lead, and pastored a staff of 10 full time employees and 15 part time employees. ? Oversaw a successful Weekday Program through a full time director. ? Launched 7 new Sunday morning Bible study groups ? Created a personal Discipleship system that multiplied for 5 straight years ? Baptized more than 120 people

The church stabilized by growing from 442 in Sunday school to over 600 by expanding its bible study ministry. Rehoboth reversed its 20-year membership decline. The church reduced its previous debt by 900,000 in 5 years. At that time, Rehoboth started 6 International churches to start on its campus. The sports and recreation program grew steadily from 2005 to 2011 to over 1000 participates annually.

Successfully restructured personal and general budget for positive cash flow ? Impacted the region in 2006 by broadcasting in on channel 57 ATL twice a week statewide by Direct TV and Comcast Communications ? Oversaw recreation department and personally coached in growing Christian sports program which had over 1,000 participates ? Led each bible study group to start "adopted a team" evangelism strategy ? Led the church through a feasibility study in 2008 ? Led the church to discover its vision and unique mission in a transitioning neighborhood ? Led church to consolidate and reinvent themselves January 2009 ? Designed a strategic plan to accomplish the consolidation and reinvention Summer 2009 ? Rebranded and launched as being "one church with unique worship environments" September 2009. Offered 5 worship venues each week. ? Started a dual small group strategy January 2010 which consisted of Sunday school at 11:00 on campus and launched Community Groups off campus throughout the week. Assimilated 85% of those in attendance in the contemporary worship venue into small groups ? Impacted region with new Invest and Invite Evangelism Strategy along with NVIT teams which canvases our community each week, beginning 2007 ? CONVERSION AND CALL TO MINISTRY

Beginning in 1991 I pursued a career in professional golf. In May of 1993, two weeks before I would have started the PGA tour, I became very dissatisfied with my life. On May 8th of 1993, I came under the conviction of the Holy Spirit. I repented of my sins, asked Jesus to forgive me and surrendered completely to the Lord's will for my life.

I surrendered to the call to preach on June 27, 1993. The Lord used a number of things to reveal His will concerning His call on my life. Shortly after God changed my life I began to speak to groups and churches in the area about what God did and was doing in my life. As God gave me opportunities to share, I felt the call of God on my life to preach His Word. After I responded publicly to His calling, God continued to affirm His calling through the scriptures, family, and friends.

DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

I accept the current Baptist Faith and Message Statement out of personal conviction as an excellent doctrinal guideline. I believe the most important testimony of the churches of our convention is to make disciples of all nations and to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Matthew 28:18; Mark 12:30).
