[Pages:4]Hey there, Dr. Axe here. I want to talk about the results of your gut type quiz and really go over the 10 things that you need to know about your quiz results and then where to go from here.

For starters, I want to say that this quiz, number one, it's a guide. It's not an absolute. These questions were designed to help steer you towards what foods are going to help nourish specific organs and help you overcome leaky gut. So that's really the first thing to remember is that this isn't an absolute. If you feel like you may be a different gut type, you can absolutely follow a different gut type plan.

But the quiz is, again, to act as a detective to help you discern what possible symptoms you're having and what organs that might be affecting. As part of this quiz that you took, there are five different gut types, and within those gut types, there are really stressors to certain organs. So that's really what we're getting to is we're looking to help create a specific diet, customized and personalized for you, that's going to help you overcome these issues that are causing you to have leaky gut along with other symptoms.

Number two thing to know about your quiz is emotions cause organ dysfunction. As a part of this quiz, there were different questions. By far, the majority of the questions were around symptoms. So for instance, if you have a white coating on your tongue and you crave sweets and sugar, we know that's going to be candida gut. But also there is a question or a couple of questions about emotions, to where if you struggle with anger and frustration and resentment, we know that those affect the liver and can cause liver and gallbladder issues. So that's what those questions are for. They do help us put you in a specific gut type.

The other thing to remember is this though, in that question that you answered or questions about the emotions you experience when coming into conflict that's related to your gut type, think back to two scenarios. Number one, in recent months or in the past year, what emotions of all of those you've experienced the most? Now, again, I know everybody is going to experience different emotions. Some people are going to have fear, some of us are going to have grief, some of us are going to have anger, and all of us experience all of these emotions. But what emotion do you feel like of all of those that you have, on a regular basis, and that you've had the most often, that's one area of emotions to look at.

The other thing for the quiz is think back and let's say for instance, you're a person, you

had a death of loved one and someone you really cared about, and then right after that, that's when your health spiraled out of control. That's when you started having all these health issues. Well, that's another thing that you might do on the quiz, as well, is answer the question that way to see during that time, you know that was a lot of grief during that time, or possibly you had something very traumatic happened or something that made you very angry.

So again, what I would do, as part of this quiz, is again answer: Number one, what emotion do you experience most often over the past year, or number two, what emotion did you experience that really started this cascade of your health spiraling out of control or that you believe was at the onset of a certain health condition or leaky gut? That might have been a few months ago or years and years ago.

Number three, remember this about your quiz results. You are your own doctor. If you think you might have a different gut type, then try that plan and listen to your body. So again, if you get the results that you're immune gut and stressed gut, and immune gut is your primary and stressed gut is your secondary, but you feel like, "You know what, I actually think I also have candida," then you can try that candida gut plan and see how your body does with that. But that's an important aspect is, again, remember this quiz is to help steer you and guide you. It doesn't necessarily give you an absolute all the time.

Number four, you can have multiple types, and you want to really nourish your, both, primary and secondary organs and follow, number one, the primary plan and then also the secondary plan. But again, you can have multiple types, and typically you're going to have a primary and then you're going to have a secondary.

Number five, once you know your type, follow the primary type plan for two weeks to eight weeks. Then once you feel like your body is getting better, you're seeing improvement, then what you want to do is you also want to incorporate the secondary plan. So let's say, again, you're immune gut and stressed gut, follow the immune gut plan for maybe two to four weeks, and then once you really noticing some changes, you're seeing improvements, then I would start adding in some of the stressed gut plan and some of those foods and practicing some of those principles as well.

Number six, a common question is: What if I have a certain gut type but I'm allergic to some of the food on that gut type list? So again, the quiz said let's say that you are a gastric gut. So you're gastric gut type, but you are allergic to barley tea or some sort of

food on there. Well, then you don't eat it. What you can simply do is find a replacement. So if you're allergic to all eggs, rather than doing eggs, you can mix water and chia, and that's actually a great egg replacement. If you're allergic to beef, you can do chicken and replace that in the meal plan. So in our recipe guide, we have specific recipes. But again, remember it's a guide. It's not an absolute. So if we tell you to do an apple smoothie one morning for breakfast, but you'd rather do the cherry smoothie, that's absolutely okay. You can eat the breakfast meals for dinner, the dinner meals for lunch. It's completely flexible. Remember it's a guide.

Number seven, your results could change over time as you heal, improve, or face different stressors in the future. So you may take the quiz again a year from now and it's a little bit different. Now it shouldn't be different tomorrow, but it could be different several months from now. Let's say, for instance, you had candida gut and you really overcame that, but then you had something stressful happened. You're exposed to some toxins, and then you noticed you're starting to have some issues where you're more angry than usual, you're getting really frustrated. Now, you're going to move over and start following that meal plan. So again, your gut type can change over time in certain regards.

Number eight, it's important to listen to your body and take notice of what foods your body responds well to. So again, remember this principle. The gut type quiz is going to tell you what gut type you most likely are, but it's important to listen to your body. It's so important, again, that we really pay attention to what your body responds well to and what it doesn't. So you might choose to have a food journal. It's a good idea as well. Then listen, test yourself by looking at your tongue or visiting a Five Elements acupuncturist. You can look at your tongue and tell a lot. If you watched my video training on Five Elements of Chinese Medicine, I train you on there on how to look at your own tongue and for you to diagnose yourself and put yourself in a certain category of actually what gut type you might be based on looking at the coating on your tongue, redness on your tongue, different shades on your tongue, and so there are ways to look at that. Or if you want to go to a real expert, Google search in your area, let's say you live in Nashville, "Five Elements Acupuncturist National Tennessee," and you will find one in your area and they can give you a more absolute diagnosis there.

Number nine, if you have a secondary type that is tied with others, then you make the personal call on what secondary type that you believe or what plan you need to follow.

Number ten, when in doubt, follow the immune gut plan. If you have inflammatory bowel

disease, if you have an autoimmune disease, or if you're wondering to yourself, "I really don't know what plan I should follow." Even after taking the quiz results and it's told you what to do, you still feel like, "Ah, I don't know what's best for me." When in doubt, follow the immune gut plan. The immune gut plan is for the most sensitive gut types that there are. So again, following the immune gut plan has the most foods eliminated, and it's for the people with the most sensitive gut.
