you have to be a master turner to show off your work. Everyone has to start as a novice.

Librarian's Corner

Chair: Bob Britt

A big thank you goes out to former member Curt Will for his generous contributions of books and magazines that will be incorporated into the club's inventory. Many of the back issues of

Page 2

the British magazine "Woodturning" fill in gaps in our inventory as we strive to build a complete set of this publication. Thank You Curt.

Join me in January when we welcome Joe Stearns to the FRW Library Group. Joe has been an active library user throughout the year and is now looking to expand his involvement with the club.

Thank you Doug Stearns who has been a dedicated assistant but will be moving on from library duty in the new year.

This year an average of 27 members utilized the club library at each of our 11 meetings. The busiest months for sign outs were January, June and November. Close to 1300 sign outs took place during 2014.

Next month will be our annual library inventory and reconciliation. If any one has finished with the resources they checked out and are in the area of Rockler kindly deposit them in the "Red" box along the back wall. If you are still reading/viewing what you have signed out that is fine. Continue to enjoy them until January when we meet again.

Happy Holidays to all.

Mentor

Chair: Bob Carver

A reminder that if you have a topic for mentoring please let our chair know. At this point in time mentoring is on a request basis due to the poor response to previously scheduled meetings.

Newsletter

Editor: Ken Weinert

Comments and articles for the monthly newsletter should be directed to the editor. It's appreciated if updates can get there by the 20th which will help get the newsletter out in a timely manner.

And a last minute note: Yes, the newsletter looks a bit odd this time. Somehow, after I typed everything in I noticed that the header was gone. So I tried to copy an old one and insert it. And got a header on every page.

Since the newsletter is going out late this time, I'm just going to send it out like it is so you all get it as it would take too long to re-enter everything again.

Next month we should be back to normal. Sorry about both the appearance and the late delivery. I received some late news that needed to go in and then time got away from me a bit.

Elections

Announcement of the winners will be at the Holiday Dinner.

Announcements

Beads of Courage Dale Bonertz will be at the January and March meetings to collect the bowls that are ready to be delivered.

Dale left some maple bowl blanks for this purpose. If you are supplying your own bowls, here are the guidelines.

In order to sufficiently hold beads, turned bowls/boxes should be no smaller than 6" in diameter. Larger is OK.

If possible engrave or burn Beads of Courage on the lid.

Ensure the lids are easily removable.

Finials or knobs should be easy for a small child to grasp
