THIS TOWN IS ALIVE IN WINTER

A fresh festival in Port Fairy in June + July 2019

That first cold day is the one we love most. The one that says the change is coming. The one that reminds us to savour the lighter, warmer weather and ready ourselves

for the darkly invigorating days ahead. This town is alive in winter. This year, we're eating and drinking our way through delicious weekends of bread and markets, wine and gin, feasts and tastings. We're moving our bodies in the water, in physical or meditative practice, walking the trails and shaking the dance floor. We're watching and making art, inspired by the watching and empowered by the making. We're meeting the makers and asking them about their craft, their processes and their dreams. We're bringing the kids along in creative new ways, sending them down the rabbit hole for stories, shows and tea parties and off exploring for fairies and beach adventures. This year, we're enticing you outdoors. When you might most want to stay inside, we want to remind you about the land on which you live, the coastline you reside by and dip into. Go to nearby reserves, plant trees, understand marine life, see an old street in a new way, embrace the chances to connect with environment and understand how to better protect it. Bring cups and containers with you to our events, carry a spare bag for the artworks, records, produce or surprises you'll buy. Our festival tries hard to look after

this planet and we hope you will too. To those visiting Port Fairy ? welcome. We are glad you're here! And if you're local, thanks for getting amongst it for another cool season. We love this place for many

reasons, but the people are our most favouritist thing of all. Don't forget to visit us online for updates, tickets and special announcements.

Stay warm and have a ball! Port Fairy Winter Weekends Committee 2019 Winter Weekends acknowledges the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this nation and the traditional custodians of the lands on which our events take place. We pay our respects to ancestors and Elders, past and present.
