Funds raised from the 2017 Lamplighter Parents' Association Auction will benefit the Igniting Young Minds for a Lifetime of Learning Campaign to Fund People, Place, and Programs. Through the campaign, Lamplighter will not only improve and enhance its campus but will also have the opportunity to further its commitment to hiring and retaining the best faculty and staff.

Socials are fantastic opportunities for Lamplighter families to get to know each other in a variety of unique, fun, and entertaining ways all while helping to support the Lamplighter Auction! Interested in helping with socials? Underwriting and sponsorship opportunities available!

Spin Class ? Parent Social

When: Wednesday, October 5, 2016 (6:30pm-8:00pm)

Where: Terlingo Cycle - 3105 Reagan St., Dallas, TX 75219

What: Grab your water bottles and join us for 45-minutes of calorie blasting, full body, indoor cycling! Whether you're a fitness novice, enthusiast, or teach your own classes ... TGO Cycle instructors will help guide you on your journey, no matter your fitness level! Cycling shoes and towels will be provided. Stick around after class to re-fuel and of course to mix and mingle with fellow sweaty Lamplighter parents! There are only 48 bikes so grab your ticket now!

Ladies Mojitos and Masterpieces Social

When: Thursday, November 10, 2016 (7:00pm-10:00pm)

Where: The Power Station - 3816 Commerce Street

What: Let out your inner Rembrandt ladies! Or maybe Pollock? Perhaps Bob Ross? Okay, pick an artist to channel and join us for an evening of mojitos and masterpieces of your own creation in the fun, energetic, contemporary art space of The Power Station! Generously hosted by Janelle & Alden Pinnell, Power Station founders. And don't worry ladies; you won't be tasked to create your painting all alone ... we'll have a talented artist on hand to help us bring our works to life!

When: Saturday, November 12, 2016 (7:00pm) *NEW DATE

Where: The Home of Amy and Philip Lang ? 5688 Meaders Lane

What: It's a night of international flavor as we celebrate the cuisine and cocktails from around the world! Generously hosted by Amy and Philip Lang, join us for this not-to-be-missed social and sip and nosh your way through the night while visiting with old friends and meeting new ones!

Family Snow Day Social

When: January 7, 2017 (2:00pm-4:00pm)

Where: Lamplighter Playground

What: Walking in a Winter Wonderland! That's right ... the forecast calls for a 100% chance of snow at Lamplighter this year! Put the kids in those snowsuits you picked up for them that one ski trip, bundle up in your hats, scarfs and gloves and grab the sleds and snow tubes. Sip hot chocolate and nibble on treats while enjoying this rare Texas snowfall. Remember parents ... only the kids need tickets! Gain early access to the slopes by purchasing the Family Underwriting Ticket, which covers entrance for all your children, including older/younger siblings not attending Lamplighter. Only 175 tickets will be sold!

What: Dads Casino Night is BACK and continuing the tradition into it's 8th year! Who will take home the Manly Cup this year? Great food, drinks, and what else ... oh yeah ... POKER! Come try your hand!

Class Pets - Pre-K, Kinder, and T1

Class Projects

Breathe a sigh of relief, your child won't be bringing home Squeakers the pet hamster! Lamplighter's Class Pets are of the "stuffed" variety and each accompanies their very own story. This year, our Early Childhood teachers selected their favorite books and the pets that go along with them. In the fall, each child from Pre-K, K, and T1 will have the opportunity to take their class pet home for one night and journal about their adventures together. But these pets can't live in the classroom indefinitely. They need forever homes and can be "adopted" on Auction night!

Some of our Lamplighter specialty teachers and faculty have pets too! Dr. Hill, Ms. Mullens, Ms. Krage, and Ms. Vermillion have been known to keep pets at school. These pets can be "adopted" by Early Childhood or Lower School students.

Each year, every grade creates projects that highlights the

students' unique spirit and captures the charm that is distinctly

Lamplighter.

Some of the most anticipated items up for bid on Auction night are the beloved Children's Baskets. Baskets contain both items and

experiences. Camping gear, toys, games, electronics, dance lessons, water-park passes, tickets to the planetarium ... the list goes on.

Our Baskets Committee is hard at work collecting donations and could use your help! We're creating a SignUp Genius page for

You may not pay much attention to the electronic sign on your way around the ring road, but your kids sure do! Surprise your child by announcing their birthday or half

birthday with their name on the Marquee. Got a weekend birthday? Start the celebration early the Friday before or keep

the party going the following Monday!

Electronic Birthday Board Announcements are $100 per child.

Lamplighter Tributes

"Lamplighter Tributes" is a full-color section of the Auction Book dedicated to Lamplighter students from their family and friends. By placing a treasured photo and personalized message in the

Auction Book, your favorite Lamplighter student will have a special keepsake memory from you. Proceeds from the tributes benefit the Lamplighter Auction. The Lamplighter Auction Book is

sent home to each family in late January/early February.
