How to differentiate the numbers

Blank spaces are provided so you can differentiate the numbers for your grade level.

Kindergarten & First Grade Start the year with numbers 0-5. As students are more familiar with numbers, move onto numbers through 10 or higher to meet the needs of your students.

Second & Third Grades Start the year with numbers through 20. As students are more familiar with numbers through 1000, start doing easier word problems with larger numbers. Present problems where both numbers are multiples of 10, where one number is a multiple of 10, problems without regrouping problems with regrouping, etc. Vary the types of numbers so that student have experiences with different number combinations.
