Fact Based Statements

It is very easy to fill your resume with a long list of skills! However, the employer is looking for more fact based statements when hiring. A critical factor that determines if you get employed is how you use your skills and demonstrate it on your resume.

Examples: You might have experience working in a fast paced environment. However, you need to give more details such as:

Greet and register approximately 75-125 clients on a daily basis, while understanding the nature of each inquiry and directing clients to the appropriate departments.

You might have excellent communication skills. However, it might be better to say: o Developed creative and informative monthly newsletters with a readership of over 200 members

Organized with good planning skills could be expanded to: o Coordinated daily operations in a busy trucking company, while maintaining an inventory of 2000 parts and over 200 work orders a month
