WordofGodtoimpactandchangetheirlives.Wearethrilledaboutthisopportunityto

haveasmallpartinhelpingchildrentoestablishfoundationsuponwhichtheycan

continuetobuildScripturalknowledge.Anaccurateandstrongfoundationprecedes

andaccurateandstrongstructurebuiltuponit.Withouttherightfoundation,the

structurewillbeincorrect.Whatanamazinggiftweasteachersandparentscanoffer

ourchildren.ThusthisserieswasbornoutofasenseofresponsibilityandloveforHis

Word.

Thereareafewthoughtswewishtoconveybeforeyoubegin.Pleasefamiliarize

yourselfwiththeentireunit.Allcircumstancesaredifferent,sowhetheryoufind

yourselfteachingeachlesson,orjustoneinthefive,itisimportantthatyouseethe

contextofyourlessonandhowitrelatestotheothers.Thiswayyoucandrawon

previousknowledgetheyhavegainedinpreviousweeks,ortakemoretimeonaconcept

ifitisnew.

ThisisanintroductiontoBiblebasics.Wereference`stories'oftheBible,

throughoutthefivelessons.Weencourageyoutoemphasizethatthese`stories'are

true,historicalandaccuratelyrecorded.Theword"story"cansometimessuggest

comparisontomade-upstoriesandfairytales.Wejustwanttomakesurethe

distinctionismade.

Wealsowanttoencouragetheteachersandparentstoaskthechildrentobring

theirBiblestoclasseachweek.Theactofseekingforreferences,andgettingtheirown

handsontheBible,pagingthroughit,andseeingthewords,willbealessoninitself.Itis

anotherwayforthemtobecomefamiliarwithGod'sWord.

Anothernotetoemphasizeistoencouragethechildrentotalkwiththeirfamilies

aboutthelessonsandwhatwaslearned.Thereisaparentresourcesheetattheendof

thisbookletthatwillbedistributedtoeachfamily.Pleasefamiliarizeyourselfwiththis

soyouwillknowwhathasbeenreviewedwitheachchild.Thereareactivitiesthatare

foreachchildtoexpresshisorherthoughtsandideas.

Theninstructthechildrentoeachchooseabook.Tellthemtoopenitupand
