WEBQUEST – Of Mice and Men

The Question:

What historical, geographic, and social issues influenced John Steinbeck to write Of Mice and Men?

Everyone in the class will become either a sociologist, a historian, a psychiatrist, or a biographer and will make a presentation to the class which will include answers to the assigned questions.

Each group member shall:

❖ be responsible for one “profession” of research.

❖ be diligent in completing their research and having it ready for Friday.

❖ be precise and thorough in completing the posed questions.

❖ be held accountable for all 20 questions.

❖ participate fully in group discussions.

❖ take notes on the information presented by their peers.

❖ arrive to class on time Friday with required materials completed.

Each group shall:

❖ be responsible for constructing a 15-20 slide PowerPoint that addresses all 20 questions (between the four professions).

❖ discuss each research question on Friday in class.

❖ arrive to class on Friday with a completed PowerPoint.

The PowerPoint research is designed to help all students be successful on a WebQuest quiz on Monday. Students will earn credit for their research, participation, and presentation to their peers.

The major assessment for this project is the Webquest Quiz that will take place on Monday.

Go to krollenglish. and click on the American Literature Tab. Then, click on Webquest for Of Mice and Men. You will have a Word Document open that allows you to access all of the links listed on your profession’s page.
