LBS Residents Qualify for Special Electricity Pricing

Alternative Utility Services (AUS) is continuing to offer a unique opportunity for residents at Lake Barrington Shores for home electricity service. Many of you have had offers from other suppliers (free miles, gift cards, etc.). The program we are offering is only for residents using electricity to heat their units with SPECIAL LOW PRICING FOR THOSE THAT USE MORE ELECTRICITY DURING THE WINTER--whereas suppliers that solicit electricity offers door to door, through the mail, or over the telephone are offering the same rate to all residential accounts. The AUS Residential Electricity Program is through MC2 and your bill still comes from ComEd. MC2 is simply listed as the energy supplier. 500+ residents at Lake Barrington Shores are participating in our program. Those with MC2 currently as their supplier don't need to do anything. For those with ComEd or another supplier, here is the offer:

Currently, the ComEd price for electricity is 7.082 cents/kWh (Elec-

tricity Supply + Transmission Charge + Purchased Electricity Adjustment). We are offering a price of 5.95 cents/kWh (which includes those same three ComEd charges) through MC2. This is a savings of 16.0% when compared to the current ComEd rate. These savings will increase as the ComEd rate is expected to rise by 18% by March 2018 (as stated in Crain's Chicago). There is NO FEE to join, NO MONTHLY SERVICE FEE, and NO TERMINATION FEE at any time. This is a fixed rate, it will not change or go up, and is good through March 2020. Hans Herrmann from AUS will be onsite in the Clubhouse Wednesday, September 13th from 11:00am?4:00pm and on Thursday, September 14th from 3:00pm?7:00pm. to answer any questions and sign up those residents wanting to save money on their ComEd bills. Sign up forms will also be available at the management office.

LBS BOOK CLUB

THE JAPANESE LOVER Isabel Allende

Monday, September 4, 2017

Spanning 7 decades of tumultuous world history, Isabel Allende's transcendent fairy tale skillfully employs flashback and epistolary formats throughout her narrative, enabling the reader to explore both the past and present in a richly woven atmosphere of juxtaposed time and place. The passion between Alma and Ichimei will be long remembered as it belies the erosion distance and time wrecks upon lesser souls.

FAR AND AWAY Andrew Solomon Monday, October 2, 2017

From the winner of the National Book Award and the National Book Critic's Circle Award comes this nearly 30 article compilation and New York Times Notable Book by Andrew Solomon--global wanderer, travel author, and observer of the world in transformation and transition. From Sotheby's 1988 art auction of formerly forbidden, contemporary art treasurers in Moscow to Rio de Janeiro's 2016 crackdown on organized crime, from Gaddafi's 2006 renunciation of state-sponsored terrorism to mouthwatering reflections on the gastronomic delights of China, Solomon serves up a reading smorgasbord as delicious as, "lotus root stuffed with sticky rice or the tea-smoked duck, which is to waterfowl what Lapsang Souchong is to Lipton."

NEEDLEPOINT/CROSS STITCH KNITTING CLUB

Welcome to the first needlepoint/cross stitch knitting club at LBS. Many thanks to Trowby and Dan Brockman for giving me the idea! My name is Dana Wright and I will be giving instruction in needlepoint and cross stitch to beginners as well as stitching along with the experienced needle workers. Although we will not have instruction in knitting, we invite our knitters at LBS to join us!

This club is for beginners as well as experts. We will meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 1:30pm ? 3:30pm in the Club Room at The Lodge. Our first get together will be on September 20th at 1:30pm.

Please bring projects you are working on as well as some of the items you have finished to show off to the rest of us. For beginners, I have some small kits that I will bring for instruction. You may also visit Hobby Lobby, Jo-Ann Fabric, and Welcome Stitchery in Crystal Lake to purchase items you might want to learn to make.

Please call me at 847-382-3746 if you have questions. See you soon! Donna
