Rock Cats return home Tuesday to take on the Trenton Thunder

Cats' gear up for 8-game stand with new promotions and key matchups

New Britain, CT - The Rock Cats are looking to claw their way back into to first place in the Eastern League ? Eastern as they take on the New York Yankees Double A affiliate, the Trenton Thunder in a four-game series beginning Tuesday. The Thunder, who lead the league as a team in Home Runs and RBI's, feature the Eastern League's Home Run leader Cody Johnson (16 HR, 37 RBI). Currently ticket availability is limited for Wednesday and Friday's games.

After the Tuesday-Friday series, the Rock Cats will host the Bowie Baysox, Baltimore's Double A affiliate, for the first and only time during the 2012 season.

Tuesday, June 26th 6:35pm (gates open 5:35) ? Welcome DJ Gregory to New Britain Stadium on Power of Ability Night presented by Rideshare, as we celebrate the accomplishments of those with disabilities. (DJ Gregory featured on E:60) ? Kids Eat Free Tuesday promotion provides all Kids 12 and under with a complimentary hot dog and water courtesy of BIMBO ("beem-bo"). The first 1,200 adults through the gates will receive a T-shirt courtesy of Irving Oil.

Wednesday, June 27th 6:35pm (gates open 5:35) ? Family 4-Pack Night at the ballpark presented by Vantis Life (4-Tickets, 4-Hot Dogs, 4-Waters, 4-Popcorns for only $40). ? Healthcare Appreciation Night honoring those in the Healthcare industry. ? Food Donation Help in the fight against hunger. Fans are encouraged to donate nonperishable food items to benefit the food pantry at Bread for Life of Southington.

Thursday, June 28th 12:05pm (gates open 11:05am) ? Time for our Annual Kids Opening Day, with the first 3,000 kids through the gates receiving Rally Towels sponsored by Xfinity. ? School's Out Ticket Special ? Reserved Seat Ticket, Hot Dog, Water, Popcorn, and open pass to the Fun Zone for only $10.

Friday, June 29th 6:35pm (gates open 5:05) ? Post-Game Pyrotechnics Show presented by Farmington Bank ? The Connecticut Constitution, Connecticut's First Ultimate Frisbee team, will be in attendance

Monday, July 2nd 7:05pm (gates open 6:05) ? Amnesty Night - For the times you've had tickets but just couldn't make it to the game, this is the night to cash in those tickets. All unused tickets from previous 2012 home games can be exchanged at the box office to a ticket to the July 2nd game. ? Monday is the second day of our Stars and Stripes picnic days.

Tuesday, July 3rd 7:05pm (gates open 6:05) ? Independence Week Post-Game Fireworks Show! Fireworks are presented by Xfinity. ? Naturalization Ceremony ? dozens of "new citizens" will receive their citizenship in a special pre-game ceremony at 6pm. ? Rock Cats/Red Cross Blood Drive! Donate blood on the Save-a-Life bus from 1:456:45pm. All donors receive two tickets to a game and autographed items. Bowie Notes The team features Shortstop Prospect Manny Machado (3rd overall pick 2010 First Year Player Draft), Outfielder Robbie Widlansky (.290, 18 Doubles, 42 RBI) and Pitcher Greg Burke (EL Saves Leader ? 13, 1.65 ERA).
