In order to be eligible to receive the additional $250 real property tax deduction, a senior or disabled person must live in a municipality in which 45% or more of the total municipal population is senior citizens aged 65 or older. The additional deduction would be available to the surviving spouse of an eligible senior citizen or disabled person, if the surviving spouse is eligible for the current $250 deduction.
