Do witches and wizards really exist?
Unfortunately, true witches and wizards do not exist. However, there are many individuals out there who claim to be witches and wizards, and are obviously not. the term "magic", when referring to witches and wizards, also does not exist, though many people claim that magic, in some forms, is in fact a real thing.
What were witches feared for?
People typically fear that which they don't understand, so witches were doubly damned: they were feared because they were allegedly agents of Satan seeking to undermine Christian society and they were feared because no one really knew what witches did or how.
What were witches accused of?
Witchcraft was the use of magical power to harm someone. In Scotland, France and Germany, witches were often accused of associating in covens for devil worship, but there is little evidence of this.
How did they identify witches?
A mark on their body that identified they were a witch, fun fact was that ticks were very common and a bite could be seen as a witch mark. Also people doing the eximanation would use hot irons to persuade woman to tell them where the mark was and if they didn't find one, used the burn they made as evidence.
