Windows filename wildcard
Can a wildcard search be performed if a path is not tokenized?
For queries involving path segments that are not tokenized, wildcard searches can be submitted. for any path that has system as sub-path in it. When performing a loadable module filename (modload) search (as shown in path), leading forward and back slashes are tokenized.
What happens if a process search has a leading wildcard?
Leading wildcards carry a significant performance penalty for the search. While process searches with leading wildcards are blocked by default beginning in Carbon Black EDR 6.2.3, you can change this either through the Advanced Settings page or the cb.conf file.
What is a wildcard No data response?
Wildcard No Data Responses If there is a wildcard match for QNAME, but QTYPE is not present at that name, the response MUST include a closest encloser proof for QNAME and MUST include the NSEC3 RR that matches the wildcard. This combination proves both that QNAME itself does not exist and that a wildcard that matches QNAME does exist.
What is a filename statement?
The FILENAME statement has been around a long time. It has been traditionally used to reference an external file on disk. However, there are many “not so well-known” functionalities, for which the FILENAME statement is a boon.

The FILENAME statement specifies a file reference (commonly called as fileref), that serves as a link to an external file, device or an access method. It doesn’t do any type of data processing but still in the world of SAS, this is one of the most commonly and frequently used statements.
Effective Searching of Windows File Systems
You can use your own wildcards to limit search results. You can use a question mark (?) as a wildcard for a single character and an asterisk (*) as a wildcard for any number of characters. For example, *.pdf would return only files with the PDF extension.

You can also use wildcards in filenames, but not in directory names, when you use aggregate syntax: filename curdir "."; data; infile curdir(’wild*’); input; run; The period in the FILENAME statement refers to the current directory.
